“I think that this was a senseless killing. Who would have a lot of money
on them at that hour of the night? This was the work of amateur bandits.
“My opinion is that the bandits probably thought that Harry had a gun, and
so they decided to take the upper hand and shoot him first,” Jacob Rambarran
said.
He added that a female clerk, who was in the car with his brother when the
bandits attacked, informed him of the incident.
“The clerk who was with him called me and told me about what had occurred,
and I in turn called the rest of the family. By the time the family arrived at
the scene, Harry had already been rushed to the hospital.
“The clerk said that the men demanded cash from her and my brother. She
told me that, after my brother was shot, he drove away and crashed into a
lantern post on Ramp Road . According to her the men ran towards the car and
continued to demand money, but she said she told them they didn't have any
money,” the slain man's brother said.
The father of the young man who was driving the car that was hijacked said
that his son was heading home when he saw the car (Rambarran's) crash into the
light-post, and he slowed downed to render assistance when he was hijacked.
“By the time he slowed down the two men, who had apparently ambushed him,
walked up to him and demanded that he leave the car,” the Eccles resident

He noted that, after the car was found, an amplifier and some documents which
were inside were not recovered.
