Gyatso was one of the five monks of the Southern Air Temple. He was also Aang's tutor, guardian, and friend. He did his best to make Aang's time in training to become the Avatar better. He firmly believed that Aang should grow up as a normal boy. The other monks didn't like that he was so protective towards Aang so they planned to seperate them and send Aang to another temple. Aang had been listening and later that night he flew away on a flying bisson. Gyatso was horrified when he found Aang missing. Gyatso was very thin and wise looking. He was bald and had the typical Airbender arrow running the length of his body. He had light skin and light hazel eyes. He wore the usual Airbender clothes except his were longer and more layered to show that he was a monk. He also wore a necklace with a wooden pendant which had engraven on it the Airbender symbol and a tastle which hung on either side of the pendant. Gyatso was a very skilled Airbender. He was the one who had trained Aang in the art of Airbending. When the Fire Nation somehow got up the Air Temple he fought most of them off. It was shown that he went down fighting and took many other Firebenders with him. After his death, a statue of him had been erected in the sanctuary to honor him. Gyatso was a very caring person and he always had everyones best interest at heart. He was extremely wise and respected. He was also a good baker. He loved to play Pai Sho and he liked to cause a little trouble here and there. Gyatso's enemy had been the Fire Nation. As I have already said, he had fought them to his death and had taken down many other Firebenders and warriors with him. |
