Appa is a flying bison that lives with the Airbenders. He is Aang's animal guide so he goes wherever Aang goes. He left the Southern Air Temple along with Aang a hundred years ago. Even after they were awakened again at the South Pole, he still sticks by the Avatars side. Appa is large and furry. His fur is white and like the Airbenders, he has a large arrow that runs the length of his body and comes down on his forehead. The arrow is black. He also has six legs and five stomachs. He has a long, flat tail that helps him fly. He synchronizes the movement of his tail and legs to fly. He flies when someone says the words, "Yip Yip", or when Aang calls him with his bison wistle. Appa is extremely loyal to Aang and would never leave his side. He is also very placid and likes to just eat and sleep. Appa doesn't really have any enemies. He just takes Aang and everyone else wherever they want to go. Appa doesn't fight either.
