Tny games & there Rules~!
.Single Elimination Tny--single elimination is exactly as it sounds... It means you only get one chance to stay in the game. If you lose once.... you are out~!
.Double Elimination Tny--In this type of tournament, you have to lose two matches before you are eliminated. After you lose your first match, your team then moves into the lower (loser's) bracket. You continue playing matches in that lower bracket until you get your second loss, which means you are out of the tournament. However, if you win all the matches in the lower bracket, you then play the winner of the top (winner's) bracket. Since the winner of the top bracket has not yet lost, the winner of the loser's bracket must beat the winner of the winner's bracket twice in order to win the tournament. The winner of the winner's bracket only needs to win one of the two matches to win the tournament. If the winner of the winner's bracket wins the first game then there is no second game.
.Swiss Tny--In this type of tournament, every player plays in every round regardless of their match results. (A player may withdraw from the tournament after any round if they no longer wish to compete.) Each win counts as one(1) point, and each loss counts as zero(0) points.
A. Regular Swiss Tny--The tournament is finished as soon as there is only one player remaining who is undefeated. (The number of rounds is set before the tournament in order to specify a maximum number of players. If the tournament is set for six(6) rounds, this does not guarantee that there will be six rounds of play since players withdrawing from the tournament may shorten the rounds required to reach an undefeated player. If for some reason after the given number of rounds has been played and there is still more than one undefeated player, the tournament will be extended in order to determine a winner.)
B. True Swiss Tny--In True Swiss System format, the number of rounds is preset by the TD before the tournament starts and regardless of the number of registrations, the number of rounds does not change once the tournament begins. (The TD can manually change the number of rounds prior to the tournament.) After all the rounds are complete, the player with the most points wins. If there is no conclusive point leader, there is no winner of the tournament. However, as an example of a true swiss system, suppose there is an undefeated player after 5 rounds of play, and the tournament is set for 8 rounds of play, the tournament does not stop, giving those players who have already a lost a chance to win the tournament.
.Timed Tny--A TIMED tourney is the same as any other single elimination game the only difference is that there is a TIMER or a SHOT CLOCK set when making a table. To make a timed game you click on create table and then set the timer to the time you want...15 seconds is recommended . IN A TOURNEY THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR DECIDES THE TIMER so you set the clock to the time that the TD gives you....This game moves fast. So stay on your toes!
.Suicide Tny--The OBJECT in this game is to sink the 8-ball when ever you can...but the STANDARD pool rules still apply....so when you miss potting the 8-ball out of turn the opponent gets ball in hand. (EXAMPLE)... player 1 has the break...he breaks as normal and pots a solid....than he pots another solid....he than sees that he may have a shot at the black so he goes for it and tries it...he misses. Now the opponent has ball in hand...so player 2 lines up the 8 ball and pots it...PLAYER 2 WINS the game..THIS GAME IS PLAYED ON AN UNRATED TABLE~!
.Killer Tny--(example: ROUND 1 ( player 1 v player 2 v player 3) player 1 makes the table and invites players 2 and 3) Each Player gets 2 TO 4 LIVES (determined by the TD) Each player gets one shot. after you have taken your shot you STAND and the next person SITS and takes his/her shot and so on... The SHOOTING ORDER is the same as the order posted in lobby by td. (example: (round 1 (player 1 V Player 2 V player 3) player 1 would take the first shot followed by players 2 and 3) YOU LOOSE A LIFE IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS 1) YOU FAIL TO POT ANY BALL (including the black) 2) YOU SCRATCH THE CUE BALL (for definition of a scratch see below) 3) YOU SHOOT OUT OF TURN....turns are done in order of the td rounds list( see example above) (if you shoot out of turn more than once you will be DISQUALIFIED from the game and tourney) WHEN you have lost ALL YOUR LIVES you are out of the game. The WINNER is the LAST ONE who has ANY lives left... SPECIAL RULES FOR THE BREAK The Player that gets the BREAK gets 2 SHOTS ONLY if he FAILS to pot a ball ON THE BREAK OR SCRATCHES the CUE BALL ON THE BREAK. IF the player scratches the white ball on the break it is a RE-RACK and that player shoots again IF the player FAILS to POT a ball AFTER THE SECOND BREAK (after scratching the white ball) that player then looses a life.
.Rack~N~Run Tny--If You sink the 8 ball on the break it is a RE-RACK. If You do not sink a ball on Your break You still get a second shot. If You scratch on Your break it is a RE-RACK. You may not use the 8 ball to make any combination shots. You MUST sink all the solids and stripes before sinking the 8 ball. There is NO ball in hand in Rack and Run. OBJECT OF GAME: The player sits and uses their turn until no more shots are made. Once you miss,or scratch you stand and the other player must try and beat the number of balls you potted on your turn. This game is best 2 out of 3. And must be set up on a TRAINING TABLE.
.Partner Tny--The tables must be setup UN-RATED!!! The game is played like normal play. The team captain sits first, and shoots. The captain continues to shoot until him/her misses, then they stand. The partner then sits in the captains spot. The partner then shoots at their designated balls. Until they miss, or finish the game by putting in all the remanding team balls, And the 8 ball. The two partners continue to trade off sitting and standing until the game is over.
.Bank da 8 Tny--This game is played the same way as many of the other one on one games. The difference is that the 8-ball must be banked before it goes into the chosen pocket. If neither player has a shot to bank the 8. Example: (if its in front of a hole, and no bank is possible, and if all either player can do is give each other ball in hand.) Then they call for a rematch, a player must ask the td to be present before asking for a rematch. No set amount of replays. Take as many as necessary. If the next game ends the same way. you call for another replay.. If a player thinks they can get it out, or bank it, and takes the shot and puts it in the hole, without banking it, he then looses. No rematch may be called.. Banking means the 8-ball HAS to hit a bank before being sunk. The 8-ball has to be banked from the OPPOSITE BANK of the hole you picked..CUE may be banked according to td running. These games are played on RATED tables
.Last Pocket Tny--AND YET AGAIN THIS GAME IS PLAYED AS NORMAL POOL. THE EXCEPTION HERE IS YOU MUST USE YOUR LAST POCKET. MEANING: THE POCKET YOU SUNK YOUR LAST COLORED BALL IN IS THE POCKET YOUR 8 BALL MUST BE POTTED INTO. THIS GAME IS SET UP ON AN RATED TABLE!
.Full Power Tny--This one is very simple... played just as regular one on one, ONLY catch is..... EVERY SHOT IS MADE FULL POWER! If at any time you do NOT use full power for a shot you automatically lose that game. Sometimes in order for the other team to see you are using full power you may need to hold cue stick back for about 5 seconds before letting go. This game is played on a rated table.
.Straight Pool Tny--This game is played on a training table. You play in the order listed. Each Ball is 1 point. Shoot any ball in any pocket (like RnR). 8 ball can go in at any time. If you sink one and don't scratch you continue to shooting. If you miss or scratch you stand and let the other person shoot (like killer). Each time you stand please report your current score total. If you clear the rack, reset and continue. First person to 25 pts. wins the game. **note** Even if you scratch on break you do not get a rerack.
.Scratchless Tny--All games are played on UNRATED PROTECTED tables. Game is played as usual, however if a player pots the white ball, he/she automatically loses. A scratch on the break is an automatic loss. If the game is completed without either player potting white ball, then the player who won the game by regular play, wins the match.
.Ups~N~Downs Tny--This game is played on a rated table the game starts off as normal. Rules do not begin till after the break. Whether you are stripes or solids is still decided as normal the first ball you sink is what you are. If you are solid all of your balls must go in the three bottom pockets, If you are Stripe its the three top pockets. If you accidently hit your ball into the wrong pocket the other person gets ball in hand. Since you will have sunk your ball you will be required to tap the ball to give them ball in hand. When it is time for the eight it can go in any called pocket. If your ball goes in the correct pocket, but another one of your balls goes in a wrong pocket it is a legal shot. BOTH balls count and the player continues to shoot.
.Yahoo Calls the Shots Tny--You never get to move the stick. Just pull back and shoot. English is Allowed (actually a huge necessity lol). Ball In Hand = you can put the ball anywhere on the table you want, but you still can never move the stick. It is played on a rated table. Everything is normal. Just no moving the stick.
.Cut Throat Tny--Rules for the game cut-throat. The game is played on a practice table with 3 people(1 vs 1 vs 1). After you invite all the players to the table you will need to astblish who-is-who, According to standings top bracket is Balls 1-5, Second in bracket 6-10,and bottom bracket has 11 - 15. Player 1 breaks the rack and shoots untill he misses a shot (if nothing was dropped on the break then Player 1 would then stand). Player 2 would then sit, Player 2 would shoot untill he missed, then he would stand, Player 3 would sit and shoot until he missed. Then the order starts over again with Player 1. The object of the game is to hit everyone elses balls in before yours are all hit in. For example player 1 is going to try to hit in balls 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15, leaving his balls (1 - 5) on the table.** EXTRA INFO ** Since the Game is played on a practice table, Yahoo gives you the option to move the ball after each shot, if you move the ball you are automaticy disqualified from the tourney.
.Call Your Shots/No Slop--Similar to a one on one with one exception. You must call all your shots! 1. EXAMPLE--> purple in lower left. or Green stripe in upper center and so on....2. If you fail to make the ball, it is now the other players turn, but if you miss the ballyou call and make another, it is a tap. Also, if you fail to call your shot it is a tap.(Tap = hitting the cue ball so that it just moves....no more than a few millimeters)3. When a tap takes place, the other player DOES NOT get the ball in hand.4. If a player fails to call his shot twice, he forfeits the game. 5. Games are to be played on protected, UN-RATED tables.
.Alternating Rules--This is a true swiss Tournament but with different rules each round. The Rules for the round will be selected by the TD prior to the start of the tourney unless otherwise stated.
.Banks & Combos--Every shot has to be a bank or a combo. If your shot isn't one of these (make or miss) your opponent gets ball in hand.
.Banks--Every shot has to be a bank shot. If your shot isn't one of these (make or miss) your opponent gets ball in hand.
.Combos--Every shot has to be a Combo Shot. If your shot isn't one of these (make or miss) your opponent gets ball in hand.
