Slaine Swiftfoot

Slaine fits well in an elven crowd, being of average stature for his people. His features are beautiful, yet not too ethereal.Blonde hair flows past his shoulders, tied in a pony tail when he is expecting battle. His dark brown eyes reflect nothing to the observer, and his facial expressions gives no secrets.Longbow at the ready, longsword on the left hip, shortsword on the right hip,and a dagger sheathed to each thigh proclaim his status as an elven warrior to all.

Slaine Swiftfoot was born to unknown parents. He was raised by the elves of Bristar,in Deepingdale, when some found him on a routine patrol. He was not six years old,and hiding in a badger hole.Slaine was soon found to have a talent for weapons, and wizardry, and was apprenticed to Rauntide and Shaunil Tharm of Highmoon at the age of fifty. He spent spare moments away from sorcerous practices honing his skill with weaponry. He devoted over seven decades to weapons, and magic, training. When he returned home,he was warmly accepted into the militia, and distinguished himself in small engagements.

As the years passed,Slaine's superiors in the militia noted his increasing aggressiveness, and decreasing aptitude for mercy. He was deemed too dangerous for duty, and was expelled from service.Slaine seeks to leave Bristar, not for any need to adventure, but to avoid that which he dreams of each night. The dreams become stronger with each year, and Slaine's 'humanity' diminishes accordingly. He has developed a lust for battle that is very unlike an elf,and it is this lust that haunts him.Without the clamor of battle, the adrenaline of fear, and the screams of the defeated,he is empty.

Slaine was commissioned by Shaunil Tharm to retrieve a crown from ruins in Featherdale, and assembled a small band to aid his journey. The companions never made it to Featherdale, being waylaid by bandits, and kept as rowslaves aboard an unknown vessel.Slaine, and his fellows, made their escape when the ship was wrecked in a storm, and defeated the band of pirates. An alliance of sorts was made with a man named Zeke, who found the crown Slaine was searching for,and an agreement to share the treasures that the crown allegedly was a map to was reached.Their new 'friend' led them towards Hunter's Down, where he thinks these treasures await.

In the first week of this quest,Slaine has suffered many wounds in battle against fell creatures. The ancient forest known as the Darkwatch puts a bit more than a little fear into his heart, for he must inevitably leave it,if but for a while. The Darkwatch is primal, dangerous, and verily stinks of evil.Slaine feels at home, though he will not speak so openly. The decay is beautiful to him,the danger is sweeter than any fruit, and the evil seeming to permeate from every tree comforts him more than anything he has yet known. This is how it was meant to be,not the 'civilized' woods his people allow the lesser races to share.
