Jane's Top Things You Didn't Need To Know But She Is Telling You Anyway
Next Week

Ok, nothing much of note has happened this week, seriously.

1)On Saturday I went to the 9th annual International Tea Party in Imabari. Twas ok I suppose. Really just a group about 50 strong of ELTs, foreigners and assorted English-interested people from the general Imabari public. First up there was this guy from England who (unfortunately) got sent to Imabari by his company (called the Pink Rabbit Company!!!) and had to spend a whole year here, with no former Japanese-language education or knowledge of Shikoku Island at all. I know EXACTLY what he felt (minus the no Japanese business). Anyway, nothing too marvelous about the speech, though it was interesting, other than the guy translating was fairly ok. (mean goodlooking durrrr!) Then we had the cake and coffee.

THEN came the hippy. This guy, my god, he was soooo irritating. Longish, curly, blonde-hair (reminiscent of a certain mid 90s singer, Simply Red), a sort of apologetic (without actually being apologetic) manner and he shrugged every second bloody word!!!AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! So, it turns out that he runs like this exchange program that helps Japanese students study overseas in Canada. Ok, then he immediately goes about telling all the horror stories he has gathered through his 15 or so years as a exchange organiser. Honestly, this party was supposed to reinforce Japan's confidence in foreign countries and indeed in the exchange idea but this guy just kept pulling it all apart, strand by strand. I felt like putting my hand up and telling him that I was an exchange student, with Rotary, and I was having a great time - thank you very much - and that I think you are a shit organiser of exchanges, in my opinion, if your kids keep getting into so much trouble. However checked myself at the last moment. Phew! And to top things off, his wife sang some of her songs, which can only be described as being somewhere between folk, western and Simon And Garfunkel. Ok, sorry Simon and Funk, I do love their music, but I honestly just wanted to club the pair of them over the head with the wife's ugly clogs after about 1 and a half songs. But managed to stop myself, and therefore evaded being charged with murder.

2)Went to Matsuyama on Sunday. Ok, also nothing much to report other than I went shopping and bought some CDs. The shopping center was huuuuuuuuuuuge (!). But they honestly had like all the best brands at this place. Ralph Lauren, Hermes, Gucci, BVLGARI, Prada, Nine West, I was seriously in love. So, when I have more money and can organise a better time to go with a willing guide (Matsuyama is big) then I will return and go crazy!!!! Oh and bought the Jet album, a Cafe Del Mar album and the The Streets album if you're interested.

Sorry this is so boring. I'll try and do more interesting things just to please you guys I promise. Until next time...^-^

(Oh, and the photo's of the White Egret in Kyoto, the biggest and best castle in Japan. Went there with the Japanese Tour in 2002, Twas coolies!)
