1) So this week I started school again after the spring break. School started on Thursday (what the hell?) and basically I spent the day finding my new class and then all of us doing some beaurocratic crap before a mass school assembly where we had to welcome the new first graders. It was so weird. We all had to stand in lines as per usual and then first the whole school about turned, then the first graders about turned to face us (to the shouted orders of the teacher of course) then the teacher yelled 'clap' and everyone clapped eachother (the whole first grade facing the rest of the school) and the we about turned back to the front of the assembly. Talk about militarian! JC! You would have thought that Asian had grown out of that whole military thing. Or at least learnt their lesson from China's mistake with that silly Mao fellow.
Then on friday we spent the day organising more of the beaurocratic side of the school, like figuring out how far everyone lived from school. This I can understand as it is the school's responsibility in Japan to look after the children, even after school hours. But the teacher wasn't even taking names. It was like "ok, who lives less than 3kms away? ok, three people, one boy two girls. Between 3 and 5kms away. 10 people, one boy and 9 girls." Etc, etc, etc. I mean, whats the point in that, other than the statistic worth of it. *exasperated sigh* This was how I found out that my 3rd host sister lives 14 KILOMETERS away! Thats one way! So when I am living with them IN THE NEXT VILLAGE, I will have to cycle 14kms to school everyday and 14kms back again. EVERY DAY! Thats TWENTY-EIGHT KILOMETERS EVERY DAY! At least I hope that this will be a way for me to get fitter but I don't know how I will manage to do it everyday. I tell you, I will be living off coffee the whole time I am living there. *sigh*
(As a side note, I only have 6 boys in my whole class. If I hear any sniggering from any of you I swear to god I'll...)

2)So on staurday I managed to go to Tokushima again. I know, I know, I seem to have an unhealthy addiction to the place. Its the ramen I tell you! You have not LIVED until you have tasted Tokushima Ramen. Oh My GOD! Its so good. I only had 2 hours of free time but that was worth the 2 hours one way trip in the car since all I would be doing at home anyway is vegetating in front of the computer or sitting all on my lonesome at Imabari Castle thinking how pathetic I am to be sitting there all alone. So after Alex (friend living in Tokushima) got his act together we walked around the park and ate ice cream for an hour (because it took him an hour to get ready to see me and realise that he'd missed the train because he took too long)(*shakes head*) and then I had to go home and sit in the car for another two hours. The four hours = 1 hour fun ratio didn't really make me too sad and there was Udon noodles for dinner that night so I forgave him (Alex) for being late.

So that was last week, you can now appreciate why it was so boring and why I simply didn't have the patience to committ to this site. (And partly because I was embarrassed that its so boring because I'm supposed to be having this amazing exchange adventure - and I'm not)(life's so mundane) Sorry guys...Smilies anyway! ^-^

(Oh and the piccie's one that I stole from an ALT's site and I have no idea who she is other than her name is Staccie and she's a vegetarian and her Hanami party looks oddly like mine what with the blue tarpauline and all - which is why I used it in the first place ^-^ )
