Highlander A/U

Premise: Immortals are very real, living out their lives as normal people amongst the mortals of the world in efforts to hide themselves from others of their kind. They participate in the Game, a barbaric show of power that’s only rule is fight or die. Immortals cannot fight on holy ground of any religion, and the fights must be one on one, to the death. They can only be killed if their head is severed from their body, and whoever does so shall receive the Quickening, the other Immortal’s power that they have gained over the years. In the end, there can be only one. Like mortals, there are good and evil sides to every story, even in this one. One Immortal, an especially dark one, has risen to power where no one Immortal can defeat her, not even if they take another’s Quickening. Not only is she bent on world domination and the destruction of all those who know how to destroy her, she’s surrounded herself with the more vicious of her kind, creating a small, Immortal band of mercenaries. In order to defeat her, Immortals must band together and defy the rules of the Game and play dirty before the Evil can take over mankind and the world as they know it, for her ultimate plan is destroy all life: Immortal or not.

Caprice Damaret

Homeland: Egypt

DOB: circa height of the Egyptian Empire/ 2000 BC

Age: 3500-4000 years

Sword: Hawk Scimitar

Level of Power: high

Lifestyle: survival/military oriented - nomadic

History:

            -    Followed Moses to the Promised Land

-         Lived in Greece and fought the Trojan War

-         Fought in the Crusades in England

-         Lived in Italy around Renaissance

-         Fought in French Revolution

-         Participated in American Gold Rush

-         Was a nurse in WWII in Germany

-         Lives in America

Watcher’s Notes: Very hard to keep an eye on with her volatile nature. She quickly spots a tail and either dispenses of them or disappears off the face of the continent. Has a tendency to run into battle rather than away, and on a miraculous note, manages to come away without a scratch without the help of immortality. Likes to keep an eye out for other Immortals so she knows who’s in the neighborhood. Doesn’t normally challenge others, but will fight when someone comes at her. However, she also seems fond of the idea of just shooting the challenger and disappearing before they come to. Also very hard to keep tabs on her during military stints as she seems to prefer black ops and spy work. Despite bad temper and thirst for vengeance, she is remarkably easy to get along with, but use EXTREME CAUTION when approaching.

Caden O’Connell:

Homeland: Ireland (she thinks)

DOB: unknown

Age: about 5,500 years

Sword: Black Dragon Ninja sword or bow staff/sword

Level of Power: very high

Lifestyle: nomadic/under the radar

History:

-         Helped build the Hanging Gardens and served King Nebuchadnezzar

-         Wandered into Egypt and was advisor building of the pyramids

-         Defended Ireland against the Roman invasion

-         Walked to Greece – met Homer and Aristotle – watched construction of Acropolis

-         Dodged out of Greece just in time to avoid Trojan War and hopped back up into Scotland where she defended against the English

-         Sailed over to Japan and wandered around the orient for a few centuries, picking up the martial arts and received her sword

-         Visited Italy during Renaissance

-         Dropped off of radar during French Revolution

-         Sailed back around to tip of South America and walked up into USA

-         Met Jesse James, Doc Holliday, Wyatt Earp and fought the civil war then headed for Gold Rush territory

-         Joined Ringling Brothers for a year while traveling

-         Disappeared again in 1900 – present (assumed dead)

Watcher Notes: None as of 1900 – presumed dead. However, earlier records show that she was very temperamental and not one to pay much attention to the consequences of her actions. Very hard to keep track of and has never had a home or permanent address. Seems to avoid most mortal battles and brushes most things off as “not her problem.” Extremely good at blending into the crowd and going unnoticed, and is on the paranoid side, always destroying every aspect of her former life before moving on. Very much a loner – does not associate much with other Immortals or mortals except when challenged. Loves globetrotting and seems to have a thirst for knowledge, spending up to a century learning about one thing (i.e. martial arts and languages – suspected to be the only living speaker of Babylonian). Side note – use EXTREME CAUTION when approaching.

Devin Hesketh:

Homeland: France

DOB: Renaissance Age

Age: 400-500 years

Sword: Celtic/Norse Sword

Level of Power: medium

Lifestyle: artist

History:

-         learned the arts from famous artists – Michelangelo, DaVinci, Monet, Donatello, etc…

-         spent most of early years in Mediterranean area, Greece, Italy, France…

-         spent a few decades in Scotland/Ireland

-         came to America and fought Revolution, Civil War, and the two World Wars – usually a nurse

-         Lives in Paris presently

Watcher’s Notes: One of the better-tempered Immortals and fairly easy to keep track of. She likes to stay in one spot for long periods of time before something causes her to pick up and move. Big fan of the martial arts but seems to drift more towards the visual arts as of late. Likes historical artifacts and fantasy more than most and has a tendency to actually settle down with mortal husbands, however, seems to become more emotionally involved with her “life” and surroundings. Has a habit of “adopting” miniature families that she befriends wherever she ends up.

Indigo Dionne:

Homeland: birthplace unknown, but remembers growing up in Philippines

DOB: circa 1400’s

Age: about 600 years

Sword: Agincourt sword

Level of Power: low

Lifestyle: conservationist

History:

-         Was kidnapped at a young age by pirates

-         Escaped when they ported in Philippines and was adopted by the natives

-         Eventually found her way over to England where she fought in the Revolution against America

-         Became a doctor in biology and conservational science

-         Lives in rainforest preserving wild cats – has a tendency to kill off people that come and bother her (or her cats)

Watcher’s Notes: Just steer clear. She doesn’t seem to particularly care for people and only comes out of the jungle to bounce from the rainforest to the Serengeti and back again before anyone really notices she left in the first place. Rumored to be a headhunter in earlier years but seems to have mellowed out since. No one can find her in order to issue a challenge so she has a relatively low power. Doesn’t seem big on travel either, except every couple of decades she takes a trip to save an animal. Also has the habit of going vigilante. NOTE TO WATCHER: be prepared to do a lot of trekking through the jungle and bring lots of bug spray.

Deidra Mathony:

Homeland: Somewhere in South America, circa Guatemala

DOB: 1400’s – 1500’s fall of the Mayan Empire

Age: 500 years

Sword: Warbrand with curved blade and blood groove

Level of Power: medium

Lifestyle: history teacher at Oxford

History:

-         Fought Spanish invasion against the South American Empires (Aztec, Mayan, Inca…)

-         After defeat, hopped aboard a ship and began hoofing it around the globe, including Japan, Italy, France, Ireland, Wales, and Hawaii…

-         Was around France under Louis the XIII and met the Musketeers

-         Finally landed in the USA just in time for the Civil War

-         Fought in WWII and served as a field nurse

-         Went back to England to teach and studies archeology – trying to figure out the spoken Babylonian language

Watcher’s Notes: Very easy to keep track of and keeps a very low profile. Likes to keep herself around knowledgeable people and usually keeps a lifestyle pertaining to teaching or a student of history. Never seems concerned about the future and avoids other Immortals for the most part except to ask questions about history. Also the only known survivor of the Mayan Empire, and the only one that knows what happened to them after their sudden disappearance. Apparently was also at Roanoke Island. Loves to experience the world in any shape form or manner, and travels very light. Very easy to overlook in a crowd and very adept at blending in, or disappearing entirely, though usually stays in one place for a while before moving on. Seems to keep more Immortal friends than most.

Quinn Roswell:

Homeland: Island of Cyprus

DOB: Early 1700’s

Age: 300 years

Sword: 1860’s Calvary sabre

Level of Power: low

Lifestyle: doctor

History:

-         Came from Cyprus to America after Revolution

-         Helped build the railroads for a while

-         Joined the Peace Corps and traveled across Africa while picking up doctoring from the locals and earned her PhD in med at Harvard

-         Works as doctor and does not participate in the Game if she can help it

Watcher’s Notes: Talk to her if you get the chance. Very pleasant and easy to get along with. One of the younger and more inexperienced Immortals, she likes to save lives instead of end them. Only two known kills and that was because there was no way to avoid the fight. Had a large family that was left behind as they grew older and she did not. Travels now and then to foreign countries to help with medical relief and helps many times in the refugee camps. Easy to keep an eye on unless she goes back to school when she keeps such bizarre hours that most mortals (or Immortals for that matter) have a hard time keeping up with her late night running around between research labs and hospitals. Also very athletic. NOTE: if she goes running, follow in the car. Not many people can keep up with her – keep in mind she learned from the African tribe messengers in the deserts for a good chunk of her life.

Lore Weaver:

Homeland: Japan (though born somewhere in Greece)

DOB: 1000 BC

Age:  3000 years

Sword: Red Oriental Dragon katana

Level of Power: medium/high

Lifestyle: architect/ linguist

History:

-         Spent nearly 1500 years just in Japan and is a master of the martial arts (though she never tells anyone that)

-         Fought in the Trojan War

-         Fought in the Crusades

-         Traveled Europe studying the architecture and spent a few years near Notre Dame

-         Teaches the martial arts in her dojo in the downtown of Paris

-         Lives within easy reach of Holy Ground so she can avoid the Game when someone comes looking for her

-         Also lives as traveling writer whenever it’s time to pick up and move on

Watcher’s Notes: Another very pleasant Immortal. If asked, she will give you martial arts training in whatever style you want since she seems to know them all. Another fairly old Immortal, she has a high power due to the fact that because of her age, many seek her out for her Quickening. However, if they knew how far ahead she was of them in swordsmanship, she would be likely not to have much further trouble. Not much of a low profile: sought out by mortals because of her architectural designs (Notre Dame is rumored to be her idea), and Immortals (reason aforementioned). Keeps a lot of Immortal friends as well as mortal, and is a big fan of the Orient and its traditions and styles.

Bayarmaa Khan:
