The Titanic

The Titanic was one of the most famous historical ships.
She measured 882.5 feet long, and weighed 46,328 tons. She was one of the biggest moving objects ever built. The ship was not only big, but she was also filled with excellent quality.
Some of the prices for entrance in 1912 included around $4,350 for a first class ticket to $40 for a third class ticket. Originally, the ship's design only had 3 funnels. The funnel towards the stern was added to make the ship look good. The Titanic carried around 900 tons of baggage, and used about 14,000 gallons of drinking water every day.

She set sail on the 10th of April, 1912. She stopped At France, Southern Ireland, and then She headed to New York.
On Sunday, 18th April, something suddenly happened.
Frederick Fleet, who was in the crows nest, was looking out at the sea. There was no moon in the sky. It was about 11:30 p.m. on a very strange night when he noticed an object in their path. It was ice. On the bridge, Officer Murdoch ordered the boat to move.
Slowly the ship began to turn and people thought the ship was going to miss the iceberg, when they heard a weird scraping noise. They had hit the iceberg.

More than 200 feet of the boat was cut open, and some of the compartments were flooding.
People were ordered to seal off all the 16 compartments of the Titanic.
2 hours, and 40 minutes later after hitting the iceberg, the Titanic sank to the bottom of the sea.

The Titanic was a spectacular boat, and a film about it has been made.
