This website is devoted to casting and painting historical military tin soldiers. I have often searched in vain for information on 'how' to cast tin soldiers, and have come up with East-European crafts retailers that sell tin soldiers at obscene prices to get-rich-quick millionaires looking to decorate their 'ancestral estate'. These sorts of sites are completely useless to the average modeller, and I have now decided to make one which actually posts some information. When I say 'historical' I mean 18th century, when European military uniforms were at their peak. In case you don't know anything about 18th century military uniforms, I have a section on this too, with several examples. The style of tin soldiers I work with are the bold, enameled, brightly colored toy soldiers that used to be found in toy stores everywhere. I myself am casting and painting a small army of Prussian soldiers from circa 1750. These are displayed throughout the site, and there is a section on them. I pesonally think they're turning out quite nicely, so they're worth seeing. Click on the links below to go to the other parts of my site.
