Mission Beach crew having their morning tea at Frog's Hollow ( our re-veg site).

Stranger fig slowly strangling out a red beech tree. Eventually the beech will die because it cannot increase in diameter, however the fig can live for hundreds of years.

Some friends posing in front of any arm DUKH.

Me and a group of young red kangaroos.

Dustin  on top of the Gum Boot in Tully. Tully gets the most rainfall of any city in Australia, this boot commemorates the year this city received its record of 7.9 meters ( the height of the boot).

A beautiful island off of the coast of Mission Beach.

Believe it or not this is a picture of the elusive cassowary, an extremely endangered prehistoric bird ( only 1,200 left in the wild) which is in the same family as the ostrich and emu. I actually had a much better view than my camera lets you know, and I felt very fortunate to see this rare and dangerous animal which most Australians have not even had the chance to see.

Balls of sand made by a crab performing maintenance duties on his burrow.

A young kangaroo happily munching on a leaf as he lounges (their favorite passtime) in the sand.

My favorite mammal here the wombat (the closest relative to the koala), not only are they cute but they also have a lot of personality.

Life is hard being a kangaroo.

A yummy jack fruit, tastes like a mixture of banana and pineapple.

An evening walk on the spectactular and secluded Mission Beach.

Another shot of an army DUKH, for one of my classes we took a tour through the rainforest on one of these. They are an amphibious vehicle used in WWII.

Me holding a giant beetle I found outside of my dorm.
