yup, Muybridge
Why I chose Plate 365 of Animal Locomotion by Eadweard Muybridge.
I chose this artist for three simple reasons:
- I heard a story once about a man who took a picture of a horse trotting with all four legs off the ground and I always wondered who it was.
- My friend is unnaturally obsessed with Eadweard Muybridge.
- Animated pictures are cooler than non-animate pictures / I love animation.
I chose this piece of art in particular because there was only one choice.
That's not actually the only reason. I was thinking of using this picture anyway since I think there's something really interesting about an animation taken by a high budget person, which just happens to have been interrupted by a pigeon suddenly taking flight. Also, I like pigeons.
A visual representation of an activity I did not do that shows that no one knows who Eadweard Muybridge is.
