“We Three Kings”

Matthew 2:1-2 KJV
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Does anyone know what a paradox is?  Would it be to doctors that got married?  That of course is not the paradox I to which was referring.  A paradox is a problem that does not have a solution.  All of the world’s major religions eventually lead to a paradox.  They eventually pose a question that cannot be answered.

Hindus must suffer numerous rebirths to reach what they consider heaven until they eventually reach a state of non desire.  Buddhist an off shoot of Hinduism presents the idea that one can become totally unselfish by following the Eightfold Path and get rid of all desire.  However this is a paradox.  If one wishes enlightenment[1] they still have a desire thus are still selfish.

Confucianism strives for order and to do no harm, a reverse Golden rule.  In this there is no security eternal or otherwise but a constant struggle towards an unreachable goal.  Zorasterism presents a similar struggle between light and darkness good and evil but no victory.

Judaism and Islam require a constant atonement.  It is said constantly I am sorry, I am sorry, I am sorry.

The wise men wee probably from different cultures.  They searched the heavens for years.   They knew a great leader, greater than all others was coming.

Jesus is the answer to the unanswerable question of all religions.  He came not just for us but for all.  He is the Alpha and Omega, the way the truth and the life and the answer to the questions posed by all religions.

Father we thank you for the eternal security in Jesus Christ.  He is the answer and the only answer. Amen

[1] Enlightenment is the state of being pure enough to enter Nirvana what they call Heaven.
