Spiderman

Lesson Plan for Spiderman

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Teaching Aid- Picture of Spiderman or a comic book.

Spiderman is a famous super hero.  He is one of my grandson’s favorites.  This story starts with peter parker being bit by a radioactive spider.  Parker then became Spiderman.  He had the strength and agility of a spider but magnified to match his size as a man.  And to the delight of youngsters Spiderman has the ability to shoot web and swing on them like a trapeze artist.  Peter Parker used this ability to become a super crime fighter.

This transformation of Peter parker may be compared to our Christian walk.  We are transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ when we accept him as our Savior.  We are born again as a new creature in Jesus Christ.  We no longer are performing by our strength and abilities but those of Jesus Christ.  We are forgiven.  Satan cannot accuse us because we are covered by the Blood of Jesus Christ.  And through Christ we can accomplish all things.[1]

Father we are saved by grace and not our effort.  We are grateful for the gift of salvation given by Jesus sacrifice.  We repent of our sin and acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior. Amen
