“Love Lifted Me”[1]

 Ephesians 2:5 (KJV)
made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved

Teaching Aid  - a Dumbbell

I try to stay in shape.  So I lift weights several time a week.  When I was young I did this to improve my body now it has become a necessity.

People may lift these dumbbells to get stronger.  You really don’t get stronger by lifting them once but by following a routine.  I know some strong athletes.  They became strong by lifting one of these (hold up dumbbell) thousands of times.

However the greatest increase of strength I ever received came from one lift.  And I did not make the lift.  This strength came when Jesus in love lifted me from my sin.

Lifting weights is good.  We should all exercise.  But by far the most beneficial exercise you ever do will be the day you stand and step forward to accept Jesus Christ as Your Savior.

The Chinese believe the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.  When you take one step and put your trust in Jesus, you begin a wonderful journey that will last through eternity.

Prayer: Father Give us the courage to take that step and put our trust in Jesus.  Guide us to repentance, forgiveness of our sins, and acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord of our life-- Amen
