My name is Dave Helling. I am with Westinghouse Training and Operational Services in Pittsburgh, PA. We provide training for nuclear power plant operators, engineers and technicians. I have worked in the nuclear power community for over thirty years. After graduating from Miami University in 1969, I served as a nuclear trained officer in the U. S. Navy until coming to Westinghouse in 1979. On a personal note, I am married and have one daughter, Nikki. She and her husband, Matt, just purchased a new home not to far from us in Pittsburgh. My wife, Kathy, and I live on an island in the Allegheny River about a mile upstream from downtown Pittsburgh. This gives us all the advantages of great access to the city with the privacy of an island. Great place. I love it. I will use this Web Page to share some thoughts and ideas about nuclear power as well as about teaching. Enjoy!
