The FT-1 is a 35mm flamethrower. It is loaded with a three-shot tube magazine. It launches an incendiary red phosphorous charge a distance of 100 metres, spreading phosphorous over the line of flight in an area 10x15 metres. The phosphorous burns at 1,300 degC for 120 seconds.
