Light Moble Shelter Unit

The basic shelters are constructed of aluminum skins over a core of rigid closed cell foam. Aluminum structural members within the panels provide added structural strength and provide locations for the mounting of equipment using rivnut type mounting hardware. The end bands and base frame are fabricated from steel resulting in an extremely strong and rigid structure.
A significant benefit of these shelters is their ability to be complexed. This can be accomplished several ways. The shelters can be connected at the personnel doors via special butting kits that provide an environmental seal between the shelters. Multiple side removable shelters can be joined into larger complexes providing large open interior spaces.
The following is a brief description of each of the available standard configurations of the Mobile Facility shelters:

Basic Mobile Facility Type A (BMFA)
This is a basic 4m x 3.5m shelter, with 1m x 2m personnel doors on each end. It is wired for 60 Hz 100 Amp power and is capable of transferring this power as well as 400 Hz power to another shelter. Interior lighting is provided via ceiling mounted fluorescent lights. The shelter contains provisions for the installation a heat pump and/or air conditioning unit, which can be integrally mounted through the side of the shelter.

Basic Mobile Facility Type B (BMFB)
This shelter is essentially the same as the Type A, but it is wired to operate on both 60 and 400 Hz power.

Side Opening Mobile Facility Type A (SOMFA)
This shelter is similar to the Basic Mobile Facility Type B except that it has provisions for two ECUs on one side and the other side is removable to permit complexing with either a Side Opening Mobile Facility Type B or a Side Opening Mobile Facility Type C.

Side Opening Mobile Facility Type B (SOMFB)
This shelter is similar to the Side Opening Mobile Facility Type A except that it has no end doors. It has a small personnel door located between the ECU opening on the non-removable side. This shelter is generally used in complexes with other side removable shelters.

Side Opening Mobile Facility Type C (SOMFC) This shelter contains no power distribution or lighting, but it has two removable sides and a single end personnel door. It is generally used in complexes with other side removable shelters to provides increased workspace.
Integration Unit Mobile Facility (INU)
This shelter is used as a junction for up to 6 other MF units. It contains power distribution capabilities that allow it to transfer 200 Amp 60 Hz and 100 Amp 400 Hz power to the attached Mobile Facilities.
