Miscellany
- "Ain",
"misain", and "isain are all conjugations of "to
be"
- -n, -i, -an, -en, and -in are all pluralization modifiers
and are labeled as such in this guide for your convenience
- -da and -sa are (among other things) superlative modifiers
- "M-" is an indicator of increased importance
that can be used as a prefix to any normal noun
- "dar" and "din" appear to have several
layers of meaning. The obvious one being that they mean "sister"
and "brother" but there is an added set of meanings
that allow these words to indicate the nature of objects and
abstractions as either masculine or feminine.
- The Old Tongue is a language of subtlety and emphasis
and inflection change the meanings of the words slightly in speech.
Any written Old Tongue is extremely hard to translate for this
reason.
- Sentence structure appears to be, for the most part,
predicate-verb-subject
- When the beginning of a one word is the same as the end
of the one that precedes it, a contraction is made and the two
words are merged.
- Bajad drovja, kjasic, and tsag are all expletives. In
other words, they're swear words. We never do learn what any
of them mean.
