JR was first introduced to online fandom in 1995 while stumbling across a Mulder/Scully story. A wrong turn led to Mulder/Krycek, and a slash slut was born. After reading enough fanfic to fill several libraries, JR tried her hand at writing in a few different fandoms, namely The Sentinel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In addition to her online fiction, several of JR's stories have been published in fanzines. She also maintains JR's Multifandom Recommendations page, an extensive list of the best fanfic in over 25 different fandoms.

DS got her first taste of fandom in 1986 after purchasing a Star Trek: TNG slash zine out of a backroom at a sci-fi convention. DS has lurked in over 50 different fandoms over the years.

About a year ago, DS suggested that JR should add a RPS section to her recommendation page. At first, JR was opposed to RPS, but DS sent links to a few popslash stories to 'lure her to the dark side' of fanfic. For the past year, JR has read little else but popslash.
We decided to work together on creating and maintaining a list of our favorite stories. We know that a lot of these have been rec'd by all and sundry, but we hope that there will be a few new finds on the list.
