LEWIS, Ronald (1869549, Ronald)

b. Filey    d. 20th November 1949

The last man mentioned on the town memorial to fall, Ronald had not been in the Armed Forces for nearly five years when he died.  The reason for his inclusion on the town memorial is somewhat mysterious as he was discharged from the Army in 1944 due to illness caused by Tuberculosis; presumably this was his eventual cause of death and hence the reason for his name to be added.

No military records are available for him (even his regimental details) and all that is known is that his family resided at 34, West Road and Ronald had been a serving member of the forces (presumably the Territorials) since the age of fourteen.
