HUNTER, Frank (LT/JX 206149, Ordinary Seaman)

b. 1909, Filey  d. Monday 20th January 1941 (aged 32)

 

          A member of the crew of the trawler Relonzo Frank was yet another Patrol Service casualty, although he did not die in combat against the enemy.  As far as is known, Frank drowned in an accident whilst the Relonzo was docked in Liverpool; his body was returned for burial in St. Oswald’s Churchyard shortly after his death.  No more details have become available surrounding this accident, but it is known that the Relonzo was not lost during the war.

          Frank was the son of George and Elizabeth Hunter of Filey and the husband of Lillian who lived on Ebenezer Terrace in the heart of the town.
