Gentlemans AgreementAgain I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them. (Matthew 18:19-20) In the 1947 classic Gentlemans Agreement, Gregory Peck is a reporter who pretends to be Jewish to cover a story on anti-Semitism and personally discovers the true depth of bigotry and hatred. Ladies and gentlemen, as believers we are part of an occupying army like the American forces in Iraq, claiming the Promised Land from the enemy for the kingdom of God. But every time the army is ready to advance its convoy and columns of armor, the devil releases the sandstorms of strife and division and scatters us like Clint Eastwood in Every Which Way But Loose. We can strike back like the empire in Star Wars against strife by launching an even more powerful counterattack, by using a Lethal Weapon with more firepower than Mel Gibson. That weapon is given to us by Jesus in the form of the prayer of agreement. Jesus said that if any two of us would agree concerning anything we ask, it will be done for us by God in heaven, and we don't even have to be a gentleman to do it. This truth is so powerful that if only we learn to obey the Word and unite in prayer with The Bible Reloaded, we would be the spiritual X-Men United and would not even see many of the sufferings, sickness, poverty and oppression in the world today. To have a prayer of agreement we first need to find a more spiritual believer or a ministry to agree with us in prayer either in person, by phone, by regular mail, or even faster by email. We must base what we pray on the Word of God, and this is only possible if we meditate on the Word day and night and renew our minds so that well think like God. We may have differing opinions about everything else, but we must be in agreement with Gods Word. Then make sure our agreement is total in the three dimensions of spirit, soul and body. Cast down arguments, speculations, and imaginations that exalt themselves against the Word of God and take every carnal thought captive to the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5) Keep a watch over our thoughts and words, then get our physical bodies in line by speaking whatever we have agreed on. Praise God and act like weve already received the answer. Dont keep asking but by faith thank God for it before it arrives. Be patient and stay in agreement until the prayer is answered, and repossess territory from the devil for God's glory.Copyright © 2003 Eddy Ministries. All rights reserved.
