Just For Looks

A lot of this car at purchase time was just as the title implies; for looks. I know a little two seat convertible isn't exactly the best (or the lightest) car for racing, but a targa top is definitely a bonus in a beach area. I almost hate to admit it, but it isn't the most masculine car in the world, either. All of that aside though, it is certainly more in the realm of "unique" when compared to all the hatches and coupes that are out there. Even though looks are my second priority (I'd rather have a sleeper, than a chromed-out, blasting stereo, 6 cylinder CamarSlo), they are still nice to have. Here is what I have done to the interior so far, which looks like absolutly nothing, unless you could see the "before" pictures.

It doesn't seem like much, but wait until you have to replace one.

As I mentioned on the title page about painted interior pieces... door handles, cruise and defrost buttons, visors, speaker covers, and all of the vents were either red or yellow. Besides disliking the yellow, ALL of it was peeling (spray paint). So one of the first "mods" I did was to get all of this replaced. As luck would have it, Dan used to have a junked Del Sol that he parted out, but he still had most of the interior. Sweet deal for me...

The visor and hood rack assembly. This was originally yellow with red visors. And flaking paint, of course.

At one time, this view would have had a lot more red and yellow in it.

My idea for the interior is to keep it as normal as possible. I'm not in to strobe or neon lights, or having the loudest stereo; I want it to go fast with a simple but "elegant" sense of style. More to come...
