E30 M3 GT2 Race Car

1990 BMW M3 SCCA GT2 / BMW CCA D-Modified Race Car
$22,500 (as is).
ABOUT THE CAR:
All receipts and records have been kept for this car. I picked it up in July of 2000 from a gentleman in San Diego by the name of Linh Nguyen. Unfortunately no more then two months later at her second track event she spun a rod-bearing at Willow Springs Intl Raceway. I couldn't afford a fresh engine rebuild but did start to slowly fabricate the car into a full blown 'Gruppe A' spec chassis (for the most part) as I became a partner in a motorsport fabrication business. Eventually I was able to afford to purchase a stock 110,000 mile S14 engine from a fellow BMW CCA driving instructor and threw it in. Car has been running since Fall of 04' and has only seen two test days (Buttonwillow and Streets of Willow).
REASON FOR SALE:
The reason I'm selling is because I quit my job and returned to school. Although she has become an integral part of my life in the past five years, I do not have the time or money to showcase this car on the race circuit.
CAR'S POTENTIAL:
As lean as she is (2175 lbs dry) and with the best suspension available, the car has tremendous potential to be a front-runner at a BMW CCA Club Race. The engine is stock, but certainly doesn't let the car down as the light weight transforms the acceleration and results in some alarming braking potential. The addition of a 4.45 or higher differential or close-ratio gearbox is all she really needs. However, the suspension and drivetrain are prepared for a lot of horsepower (I originally planned on putting in a 2.5 before I decided I couldn't afford to get into racing). Car wouldn't hesitate dealing with a 300hp S14 2.5 or even an inline six cylinder conversion. The car does not utilize swaybars although they can easily be bolted-on (I have all the hardware). I recommend increasing the spring rates or adding bars with the current springs to begin a solid start to your racing season.
