Thomson joined the cast of "Sunset Beach" in June 1998 as the
dashing A.J. Deschanel. Thomson is best known for his portrayal of Adam
Carrington on Aaron Spelling's primetime drama "Dynasty."
Thomson was raised in Montreal and began acting while studying English
at Montreal's McGill University where he graduated with honors. From Los
Angeles to London, Rome to New Zealand and Oslo to Dakkar, Thomson has
thrilled audiences with his work in film, television and theater. In
Canada, Thomson has appeared in dozens of stage productions including
"Love's Labour Lost" at the Stratford Shakespearean Festival
in Ontario, "The Imaginary Invalid" and "A Month In The
Country." One of his favorite productions was "Godspell"
in which he played Jesus and worked with Martin Short, Andrea Martin and
Gilda Radner. These acclaimed performances led to the U.S. stage in Joe
Orten's "Loot" at the Arena Theater in New York. His stage
work landed him a place in ABC's Talent Development Program, from which
he was personally chosen by Aaron Spelling for the role of Adam
Carrington on "Dynasty." Following Dynasty's finale, Thomson
worked in his native Canada in "Secret Lover," a harlequin
television series for ShowTime. He also starred in "The Ray
Bradbury Theater" and even on "The Muppet Show." Tompson
returned to American television to join the multiple Emmy-winning
"Santa Barbara." Thomson also became familiar to British
audiences through his work on "Good Morning Britain" for
London TV-AM, as their celebrity American slant events including Royal
Ascot, Wimbledon and The Derby. Thomson also did an independent British
film called Explosion. Other independent film work has included
"Acts of Love," "The Intruder" and more recently
"Man of Her Dreams" with Patrick Cassidy and William Moses.
Among his many guest starring roles in the U.S. are the Magic Hour/HBO
production "The Gardner," ShowTime's "Silk
Stalkings" with Erin Grey, "Baywatch," "High
Tides," and "The Nanny" with Fran Dresher. Thomson
currently is single and resides in the Hollywood Hills. She lives in Los
Angeles and her birthday is October 1. |
