SET PICS & ARTICLE FROM 'PASSION' CEMETERY SCENE
DE PALMA, RAPACE, HERFURTH FROM YESTERDAY'S SHOOT AT SCHÖNEBERG CEMETERY

BZ published an article with pictures from Tuesday's set of Passion at the St. Matthew's cemetery in Schöneberg, where they were filming a funeral scene. Pictured above is Brian De Palma, Noomi Rapace, and Karoline Herfurth on the set. The article by Bea Peters says that while the scene was serious, in between takes Rapace and Herfurth could be seen laughing and joking around with each other. The article mentions that while Rachel McAdams was not there, the actress has been seen flitting around Berlin on her bicycle in between takes.

KAROLINE'S FB POST ABOUT FIRST DAY ON SET
HAIR IS "SHORT AND RED", 'PASSION' SET IS "EXCITING"

Earlier this afternoon (German time), Karoline Herfurth posted on her Facebook page about her first day on the set of Brian De Palma's Passion:

Thank you for your kind greetings. Spent my first day of filming on the set of [Brian] De Palma. My hair was made up short and red, which I have to adjust to. Once the hair stylist for the shooting is done, it even looks really good, but when I'm home in front of the mirror and don't know where the damn volume mousse is supposed to go, then it is a disaster. Close your eyes and go for it, after shooting until I can return to the hairdresser ... :-) This set is and remains exciting :-)

It looks like Brian De Palma and friends did an overnight shoot Friday inside the Bode Museum in Berlin, wrapping up the night's work at about 5am this morning.

FIRST PICS FROM SET OF 'PASSION' IN BERLIN
FILMING BEGAN MONDAY NIGHT IN FRONT OF SUBURBAN VILLA

Rachel McAdams Online has the first pictures from the set of Passion, which began shooting Monday in Berlin. According to the Berliner Morgenpost, the first scene was shot Monday night in front of a villa in Lankwitz, a southern suburb of Berlin. The initial shots involved Rachel McAdams, who was joined by co-star Noomi Rapace around 8:30pm.

'PASSION' PREPPING AT STUDIO BABELSBERG
REHEARSALS, LIGHTING & CAMERA TESTS AT LEGENDARY STUDIO THE PAST WEEK

Dress rehearsals for Brian De Palma's Passion have been held this past week at legendary Babelsberg Studios, which turns 100 this year. According to PNN's Jana Haase, De Palma arrived "with his three leading ladies," Noomi Rapace, Rachel McAdams, and Karoline Herfurth. Along with rehearsals, states Haase, the Passion crew has been using the studio to develop the look of the film with lighting and camera tests. Haase writes that, although reports have stated Passion will shoot exclusively on location in Berlin (beginning tomorrow), the film's set designers have made a home for themselves at Babelsberg, as well. Meanwhile, after Rapace was spotted strolling the Berlin streets with her family, the Berliner Morgenpost ran a headline today that read, "'Lisbeth Salander' out and about in Berlin."

PAUL ANDERSON JOINS 'PASSION' CAST
AND SCREEN DAILY SAYS FILM IS EYEING A 2013 BERLIN FEST PREMIERE

The Daily Mail's Baz Bamigboye reports that yet another member from the cast of Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows has joined Brian De Palma's Passion. Paul Anderson will reteam with his Sherlock co-stars Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace for the De Palma project. Previous reports state that Dominic Cooper and Karoline Herfurth have also been cast. Meanwhile, Screen Daily's Martin Blaney mentioned in an article today about Ascot Elite that De Palma's Passion has "an eye to a premiere at the 2013 Berlinale."

'PASSION' CREW GETS TO WORK
'CLOUD ATLAS' TRAINEE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR JUMPS ABOARD DE PALMA PROJECT

As Hollywood gears up for the Academy Awards tonight, the cast and crew of Brian De Palma's Passion are gathering in Berlin to get things in order for the ten-week shoot that begins a week from tomorrow. Annika Sell (pictured) interned as a trainee assistant director on Cloud Atlas, the ambitious film directed by Tom Tykwer, Andy Wachowski, and Lana Wachowski that was partially filmed in Germany. Sell tweeted this morning that she was heading to work on a beautiful Sunday to begin work on Passion. Sell is an aspiring director who shot a romantic comedy called Sincerely Yours in May of 2010. Before completing that film, however, Sell and producer Jessica Etherington found themselves with various internship opportunities they couldn't pass up, and have not had the time to work on editing Sincerely Yours. Sell has now decided to try and find somebody else to edit her film while she continues with her internships. Best of luck to her.

REPORT: 'PASSION' ADDS DOMINIC COOPER TO CAST
UPDATE: COOPER NOT PART OF CAST
BRITISH ACTOR LISTED MATTER-OF-FACTLY IN GERMAN REPORT FROM BERLIN FEST

MediaBiz reports from the Berlin International Film Festival (which ended this past weekend) that the German-Swiss distributor Ascot Elite Entertainment Group has picked up the theatrical and home distribution rights to Brian De Palma's Passion. What is particularly of note in the article, however, is that it includes British actor Dominic Cooper as a cast member of Passion, along with Rachel McAdams, Noomi Rapace, and Karoline Herfurth. Cooper would presumably be playing the male character who becomes a sort of pawn between McAdams' CEO and Rapace's deputy. Cooper made a big splash last year playing dual roles as Saddam Hussein's ruthless playboy son, Uday Hussein, and his body double in Lee Tamahori's The Devil's Double. That film was widely compared to De Palma's Scarface. Its cast also included Ludivine Sagnier, who starred with Kristin Scott Thomas in Alain Corneau's Love Crime, on which De Palma's Passion is based.

BERLIN LOCATIONS REVEALED FOR 'PASSION'
SONY CENTER, BODE MUSEUM, MARGAUX RESTAURANT

Brian De Palma will shoot Passion exclusively in Berlin, according to an article posted today by Der Tagesspiegel's Andreas Conrad. The original plan a year ago was to set Passion in the U.K., which meant exteriors would be shot in London, while interiors would have been done at a studio in Berlin or Cologne. But now, according to Conrad, not only will the film shoot exclusively in Berlin, but it will all be on location, meaning no studio sets. This makes the project sound all the more thrilling. Conrad states that aside from the obligatory scenes set in office suites, De Palma will shoot Passion at the Sony Center (pictured above), the Bode Museum, and the restaurant Margaux (the interior of which is pictured below).
