'VENICE BEACH' IS NOT A DE PALMA PROJECT
ALSO OFF THE TABLE: 'LIGHTS OUT' , 'THE TRUTH AND OTHER LIES'
Last week, IMDB updated an entry for a movie titled Venice Beach, adding Brian De Palma's name as director. However, I have received confirmation that this is not a movie De Palma is making. He will also not be making Lights Out, and he will not be making The Truth And Other Lies.

Thanks!

Just found out that the editor will be Joel Cox, the oscar-winning editor who worked on almost every movie by Clint Eastwood (!!)

Music by Dan Beaulaurier (unknown, if you make a little bit of research you'll find that he is some kind of singer)

Cinematography by Jim Bishop (unknown)

It's weird because de Palma is not picky about his crew, but he always picks amazing composers and cinematographers.

I thought it was odd that a distributor would be listed so early, that being Sony. And I know not a year ago De Palma was still talking about Retribution (remake of 2003 film The Memory of a Killer) - how he still wanted to make that w/ Pacino, just waiting for financing. Well...... The Memory of a Killer was released by Sony Pictures Classics, under Sony - so they'd have the RIGHTS. Just a guess, but could be the Retribution project. Crime genre fits too.

I hope we all know to be wary of IMDB listings. People can edit those freely. This could all be wishful thinking on the part of the not-likely-to-get-$22-million Aesop Entertainment.

As an example, the composer listed for Scorsese's The Irishman is a woman with zero other credits of note named Seann Sara Sella. Oh wait--she also credits herself as composer on two in-development Scorsese projects which are not even close to being in production yet.

Yup, from personal experience with the noted individual I think you're 100% correct. Robbie Robertson will be shown to be the film's composer in the end.
