Name: "Paul "Do these franchise reboots/passing on the mantle ever work? I mean right now Tom Cruise in the popular eye is box office poison (I disagree, a story like Valkyrie just doesn't appeal to the casual filmgoer and "Knight & Day" looked awful, no matter who starred in it) but if this 4th Mission Impossible should work and put Cruise back on top again does anyone think Paramount would let him just walk away from this franchise?

Name: "Geoff"I think of it more like Tom Cruise isn't the one who would want to walk away from it-- it has seemed like his baby since he took it on, and something he enjoys doing. I always thought it was Paramount who is concerned that maybe if the franchise is going to continue, they need to start thinking of a new leading man, and the possibility that (by their way of thinking) the franchise will only survive by loosening those ties.
