Miami Trip - September 2003

On Thursday, September 25, 2003, a hardy band of explorers headed south into wild country known as south Florida. Students from Horticulture, Entomology, and Ecology classes joined the intrepid faculty members on the journey. Four vans carried the group on their soon to be unforgettable journey!

The weather and traffic did not always cooperate but, after a morning cup of Cuban coffee, we were off to Fairchild Gardens.

The Group!

Always Prepared!

The Rainbow Eucalyptus Tree - Amazing Colored Bark! A resident of the gardens welcomes us.

The afternoon brought high sunshine, high humidity and high mosquito count as we were off to the Everglades!
The great blue heron was amused at the hot, sweaty, ragtag group who had invaded his domain.

The evening brought dinner in the Keys. We ate our seafood watching the sun set slowly over the water.

Guess who's not going bald.
