Chp 1

Things between us just began weird. I was at a basketball game, alone in a strange city. He couldn't have known I was a tourist, but I sure felt like one. Everyone there acted completely different then people back home. My brother and just moved down there and his wife, Cary, had planned the basketball game, but business stopped her from coming. So, I threw on a T-shirt and my shortest jean shorts, brushed through my short black hair, and took off to the arena alone. The gamer was ok, I had great seats, but basketball is a boring sport. The only thing keeping me entertained were the cute players and a pair of guys a section away from my seat. I had noticed the intense dark one staring when I went to get a soda. He was still staring as I came back. I smiled at him and continued to watch the game. When half-time came, I was sick of the dumb game and was about to leave. Those plans were thwarted when one of the guys came over to me "Hi" a deep voice said. I stopped watching the bimbos cheer and looked up to see the blond. I was disappointed it wasn't the dark one.
"Hi" I responded, smiling at him.
"You look kinda bored"
"Well, yeah. I'm not that into basketball. Plus, these players aren't all that cute." I said. He laughed.
"By the way, I'm Nick" He extended his hand and I shook it.
"I'm Raven" I said.
"Its nice to meet you" he said.
"Same here"
"Are you here alone?" he asked. I almost laughed. He knew I was alone, his friend had been staring at me all game.
"Yes, I'm alone. What about you?"
"Well, no. I'm here with my friend D. He's actually the reason I'm over here. He's kinda shy.."
"Oh, so he sent you over here to talk to me"
"Well, actually he doesn't know. I'm the kind of guy who goes up to a pretty girl, and D cant do it."
"Well, isn't D afraid you might take his pretty girl?"
"Well, I cant like a girl who doesn't like basketball."
I laughed
"So, I'm having this party on Saturday and I want you to come. D's gonna be there, and I'm sure you guys can interact then."
"Saturday?"
"Yeah, I'll write down the address.
"Ok," I pulled out a piece of paper and Nick produced a pen out of nowhere. He wrote down the address and handed it to me.
"Well, I better get back to my seat. If D comes back and sees I'm not there, he'll be worried. You'll come on Saturday"
"Hopefully"
"Well, it was nice to meet you.."
"You too." He waved and ran back to his section. As he sat down, D came back from the concession stand with food and drinks. He looked over at me and I smiled sweetly. I decided that I couldn't take the game anymore, so I left. I went to my brothers house and found Cary watching TV.
"What are you doing home?" she asked as she looked up from the TV.
"I was about to ask you the same thing." I responded.
"I just got home."
"Oh, well, I got bored so I left."
"Oh.." she responded and started watching TV again.
"Is there anyway you could show me where this address is?" I showed her my paper.
"Sure" she got up and we drove to the address. The house at the address was huge.
"Who lives here?" Cary asked, gawking at the house.
"This guy I met. He invited me to a party on Saturday."
"How old is he?" she asked
"I don't know!" I sighed.
"I don't know if your mother would approve..." she responded.
"Cary, c'mon! I'm old enough to make my own decisions. We wont tell Ray where I'm going. C'mon!" I couldn't help the whining. I wanted to go so bad to the party.
"Ok...We'll just wont say anything to anyone, but you have to behave yourself."
"Thank you Cary!" I exclaimed, hugging her. I already knew my outfit.
Friday passed by slowly and Saturday seemed like 10 PM would never come. At 9 I started getting ready. I had a pale pink bustier and a short black miniskirt. I brushed my hair and put on pale pink lipstick and black eyeliner. Cary had agreed to distract Ray when I left, so I got out of the house unnoticed. I got in Cary's Probe and sped towards the house. I could feel the butterflies collect in my stomach as I started into the neighborhood. As I pulled onto Nick's street, I could tell all of the cars were there for this party. I parked and headed towards the house. All of the cars I passed were BMW's, Lexuses, Bentleys. Some other people were walking in the house, so I followed them. Inside the music was loud, and the drugs and alcohol were being passed around like candy. I almost automatically felt out of place. All of the people were at least 5 years older then me, I tried to keep my cool as I went through the crowd. I obtained a drink from some guy and circled through the rooms again. I looked up and saw him standing only 5 feet from me. I walked up to him and tapped his shoulder.
"Hi" I said as he looked ay me. He opened his mouth but nothing came out.
"Yoiu're a man of many words" I said as he stared at me. I got to examine his face closely, and he was even more handsome close up. Big brown puppy dog eye, full lips, long black hair, kind of short, skinny but built, about 27 or so.
"Hi" he managed to say.
"Hi. I thought you were mute." I laughed. He smiled a little.
"Weren't you at that basketball game?" he asked.
"Yes, I'm Raven" I replied.
"My friends call me D" he replied.
"What do your parents call you?"
"Howie" he said. All of a sudden, someone bumped into him and he pushed up against me. I could feel the heat coming from him.
"Is there somewhere we could talk?" I leaned against him and whispered in his ear. I could feel his breath sharpen slightly.
"Yeah," he muttered and grabbed my hand. He led me upstairs, to the end of the hall and then up the stairs to the attic. I went up the stairs first and I heard him close and lock the door. The attic was furnished into a bedroom, with a huge bed on one side of the room, and a computer, stereo and TV and VCR on the other. Sitting in the corner were 2 guitars. I went and sat on the bed. He came up and sat next to me.
"Do you play the guitar?" I asked looking at the corner.
"Yeah. I'm actually in a band," he replied. I could feel his eyes burning into me. I looked at him and smiled.
"What's the name of your band?"
"Backstreet Boys."
"Cool." I kept asking him questions. He seemed almost unreal. The room was dark except for a cheesy lamp by the computer and even in the attic you could still hear the bass of the music from below. He was still talking when I kissed him. I couldn't help it. I leaned over and kissed those lips, and when we were finished, we fell asleep together on the bed.
