Chp 1

"That's it for today guys!" Hype shouted. The people in front of the camera started to disperse. Kat stood up slowly and squinted in the bright sunlight. She inhaled deeply, forgetting that the smog filled LA air didn't help much. She coughed slightly. She had just started shooting "Clubbing" a month ago. She was loving every minute of it. It was about a club kid, played by her, that kept running into this upper class guy, played by Omar Epps. It was a psychological thriller, and Kat got to play the "bad" girl. Kat fell into step, following everyone else to the abandoned parking lot where the trailers were.
"Kat, there's a call for you. I was in the trailer and your phone rang, and I answered it cause I didn't think you'd get there in time," another actress handed her the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hey baby" came Howie's reply. Kat smiled happily.
"Hey what's up?" Kat said as she walked into wardrobe. She was happy she could change out of the hot pants and bustier that her character had worn that day.
"Well, baby, I'm heading for Orlando right this moment, and I do believe you aren't there waiting for me."
"Oh, sweetie, I'm sorry. Hype asked me to stay through tomorrow, and then he said he would postpone the rest of my scenes till next week." Kat sighed into the phone.
"Baby I cant wait 2 more days!" Howie sighed in response. The Backstreet Boys had just finished their tour, and were heading back home for a short break. Kat and Howie hadn't seen each other in 2 and a half months, and she knew he was as eager to see her as she was to see him.
"Well, you're going to have to wait. You're lucky Hype and I are friends." Kat said.
"I know. It's just been way too long. They guys all want to see you....and I can’t wait to get you alone." Howie said. Kat laughed.
"Is that all you can think about?" she teased.
"Right now, yes"
Kat laughed. "I better go. I have to get lots of sleep tonight."
"OK, well, how are you going to spend your lonely night in Hollywood?"
"Well, Gabby and I are going to go running on the beach." Kat responded. Gabby was in the movie too, playing Kats best friend. In reality, the two were really good friends and Kat was staying at Gabbys apartment.
"Well, I guess that's acceptable." Howie paused. "Don't you want to know what I'm doing tonight?"
"Well,......behaving yourself"
"Well...That too, but I am going to be thinking about you. " Howie said. "Well, I'll let you go. Have fun running."
"I will. I miss you." Kat said softly.
"I miss you too......2 more days."
"I know. I love you."
"I love you too."
Kat clicked off the phone and turned around, nearly running into Omar.
"Sorry" she mumbled.
"It's cool," he responded sweetly. "Was that your infamous boyfriend no one knows the name of?" Omar had been trying to pick her up for the past 2 weeks and it drove Kat crazy that he didn't get the picture of her having a boyfriend.
"Yes, it was." Kat huffed
"Well, what did mystery man have to say for himself?"
"He said to mind your own business" Kat responded sharply and stalked off to a waiting Gabby.
"I don't how you can turn him down?" Gabby mumbled as they got into her black mustang.
"Please, he's so obnoxious!" Kat said in disgust.
"But he's so hot, and nice! You just think he's obnoxious cause he wants you." Gabby responded.
"Well, he can never compare to my boyfriend." Kat sighed.
"I can’t wait to meet this guy. You talk about him all the time. He must be a great guy."
"He is" Kat mumbled as she closed her eyes. She smiled just thinking about him.

"Don't look so glum bro.' Kevin patted Howie on his back. They were just getting off the plane and Kevin and he were the only ones without someone there to greet them.
"Well, do you want to do something, or are you sick of me?" Kevin asked.
Howie laughed. "I want to go get drunk."
"Great" Kevin said. They went to their respective houses to drop off their luggage, and went to a bar to get smashed.
The next day, Howie went to see his family. Kat wasn't getting in till 9 am the next morning, so he had a whole day to kill.
He spent the day talking about the tour. His parents didn't know about Kat and his "relationship" yet. They'd met her, but thought the 2 were just friends. Howie went home, waiting anxiously for 9 am to come.

"I'll see you next week" Kat waved to Gabby as she headed to the plane. It was 1 am, and Kat was ready to sleep her way through the plane ride. She boarded the plane, took her seat, and fell right to sleep. She awoke 5 hours later, to another sunny day in Orlando. She hated jet lag, and her body was now tuned to Pacific time, so it felt like 5 am instead of 9. Kat sighed tiredly and walked towards the gate. She spotted Howie instantly. He was smiling his usual smile and started walking towards her as their eyes locked. Kat put her bag down and threw her arms around him. They stood there just hugging each other for several minutes.
"I missed you so much sweetie." Howie whispered in her ear.
"I missed you too." She whispered back. She started to pull away when she noticed people staring. "I think were causing too much attention" Kat giggled.
"Who cares?" he said back. He reached up and brushed a strand of hair off her forehead. He ran his hand down her face, stopping as his thumb brushed over her lips. He kissed her softly.
"We should go.....the airport isn't high on my list of romantic hot spots." Kat said drifting away from him. Howie pouted slightly, but grabbed her bags and led her to his car. He helped her into the car and they sped away from the airport. They pulled onto Howies street a few minutes later, to Kats surprise.
"My apartment is the other way." Kat said a little confused.
"I know that baby." Howie said not taking his eyes off the road. They pulled up to his house and Howie opened the door for her.
"You sit here for a moment. I'll be right back." Howie said as he sat Kat on the sofa. He went upstairs with a mischievous grin. Kat just sat there wondering what Howie had in store. A few minutes later, Howie came halfway down the stairs and motioned for her to come. She got up with a puzzled look and walked to the stairs. Howie grabbed her hand and led her into his bedroom. There were candles lit all over the room and soft music playing.
"What is all this?" Kat asked.
"I had to ravish you as soon as you got home. Howie said as he pulled her into his arms.
"But, I have jet lag" Kat teased.
"I don't care. Believe me, after this you won't be tired." Howie closed his lips over hers to stop any further comments.

"Can I take a shower?" Kat asked. She was watching Howie get dressed but she was still lying in bed unclothed.
"Of course" he answered. "There are towels in there. Use whatever you want"
Kat went and took a steaming hot shower. When she got out and had the towel on, she realized her clothes were in Howies car.
"Howie.." She called out of the bathroom door. "I have no clothes."
"Really?" Howie asked as he came up to the door and looked in. "You have a towel on!" he said disappointed.
"No, silly. I have no clothes, they're all in your car."
"You can borrow something of mine." Howie responded. He went to his closet and came back with a pair of jeans and a shirt. She put on the jeans and shirt, both of which were slightly baggy.
"I look like an idiot," she huffed walking out of the bathroom.
"No, you look hot." Howie said beaming. He then proceeded to gather his keys.
"Where are we going?"
"To see Kev....hes dying to see you for some odd reason." Howie teased.
"Good, I can see someone I like." Kat teased back.
They drove over to Kevin's house, and Kevin answered the door looking very happy.
"Hey Kevin" she said as they walked into his house.
"How have you been?"
"Good.......you seem well.....Is that Howie's shirt?"
Howie laughed as they walked in to his living room. There they found AJ.
"I didn't expect you to be here too!" Kat exclaimed as she hugged him
"Well.....its good to see you babes." AJ said.
"That's enough of playing touchy-feely with my woman" Howie interrupted the hug and pulled Kat to him. They sat on Kevins leather wrap around couch, Kats legs across Howie lap. AJ sat across the room, and Kevin sat on the other side of the couch.
"So, how is the movie going?" Kevin asked.
"Well, its been great!" Kat continued to gush about the movie, the set, the crew, her fellow actors.
"So, when does this thin come out?" AJ asked.
"Hype is hoping for either April or May." Kat responded. They talked for another couple of hours, catching up on the past few months.
"Well, I think Howie and I should be leaving." Kat said after a long talk. They said good-bye and left.
"Where are we going?" Howie asked.
"My apartment. I'm going to cook you a huge meal. You'll need the energy for tonight." Kat smiled. They got to her apartment and she started kissing him. They went up to her door intertwined. Kat got out her key to unlock the door when she noticed the door was already popped open.
