Bulgarian musician - accordeonist. He composed and played bulgarian folk music from Varna region.
He have 7 LP, 6 SP , 6 cassettes albums , 1 CD and over 300 recordings in National Radio Station,Radio Sofia and
Balkanton.Dimiter Stoikov is a genuine folk musician. He carries deep in his
heart the unmasked love for Bulgarian folk songs, towards Bulgarian folk music.
A real offspring of the people, he has felt and preserved the rich spirituality of the ordinary Bulgarians
and their aspiration towards everything which is good and beautiful in life.
Already as a young boy he was brought up to love and hold in high esteem Bulgarian folk music. His musical
upbringing he owes to his father -- a well-known reedpiper, and to his mother -
a famous singer of Bulgarian folk songs. From them Dimiter inherited the rich popular musical traditions,
the instrumental melodies which he heard in his home ever since he was born.
The basis of his enormous repertoire is the rich folklore from and around Varna and the Dobroudzha region.
Dimitr Stoikov's horos convey the characteristic
style peculiarities of the Bulgaria.
These ring dances are distinguished for their
great melodious richness and very varied
rhythmics.
