They may be based in Orlando Florida, but the reed-blooded American members of
the BackStreet Boys--Brian Littrell, A.J Mclean, Nick Carter,Kevin Richardson, and Howie Dorough--They first became
major music players in Europe, Canada, and Asia!! When they released their US BackStreet Boys CD this past August,
A.J commented in a U.S.A today cover story:"You really don't know what to expect. Even though this is home for us,
it's still a new territory, and you don't know what the reaction will be."
Howie added hopefully:"i think that at the time we released our first record [a single in 1995], alternative, grunge,
and urban were hot. Now we feel that pop music is starting to come back a little bit."
A little bit?!!!The CD's first U.S single,"Quit playing games (with my heart)" won Hot Shot debut honors when it
entered Billboard's charts at No. 24!!
It then zoomed all the way up into the TOP TEN!!
Looks like the BackStreet Boys have been welcomed home with open arms!!
