The Backstage Interview

Just recently, Josh & Herbie sat down with Max Caddy of Madman Enterprises, to do an interview about the movie. Below is a link to the interview.

The Blair Clown Project in Entertainment Weekly.

Well, The Blair Clown Project is mentioned in this week's issue of Entertainment Weekly. It's included in an article entitled "Everybody... Into The Woods!", which is about Blair Witch parodies. Our's is the first one mentioned. Why? Because we're the best one? No, it's in alphabetical order. Even though our choice for the best one would probably be pretty bias, we all want to see The Erotic Witch Project. If you're looking for the issue, it's the February 25th issue with the cast of "The West Wing" on the cover. Below is a scan of the article.

"You paid how much for postage?!"

Why the price increase? Well, we just recently had to shell out quite a few extra bucks to get a fan their movie. Let's just say there's a non-American with a copy of our movie in their collection now. Anywho, from now on, orders are only being taken from within the U.S. Sorry U.K., you're great, we love the Queen... but postage costs a lot of money. The price increase isn't all that much though. It went from 12 to 15. To all those who have already sent their orders... this new price doesn't apply (obviously).

Selling Like Hotcakes

Even though the movie has only been out for a good two weeks, it's been selling pretty steadily. We've gotten nothing but good feedback about the movie... except from a couple people about the one scene where Herbie throws up. (you'll understand if you see it) Below is an order form for downloading & printing out. Before you decide to order (if you do) we warn you ahead of time... this is no masterpiece. Though the film quality isn't the best, it's a laugh-off-your-ass film.

Blair Clown FINISHED! DONE! COMPLETE!

The Blair Clown Project is now finished, & you can find it at Superior Comics, The Barking Frog Coffee Shop, and Dover's Best Diner... all in Dover, DE. It costs $10, & order forms will soon be available on this site.

Blair Clown Packaging.

Here's what the cover to the movie's case looks like. This is also what's being posted all around the downtown area of Dover (with the exception of a URL address on the front). To all those who own DVD players, yes... there may be a Blair Clown Project for you. As popular as the movie's gotten, there just might even be a Special Edition Director's cut in the works. Keep an eye out.

Blair Clown Finished.

Most likely, copies of the movie will be available in Superior Comics on Loockerman Street in downtown Dover. It will sell for $7.45, which isn't all that bad. Last night, we pre-viewed the movie to a group of about 10, and they really enjoyed it. The audience didn't expect to see Herbie really vomit, and they all had a good laugh.

Blair Clown Almost Finished!

Ever since we decided to go back to our old editing system, things have been running much smoother. So far, we're done everything but the audio effects & sound track. I'd expect to see the Blair Clown Project on Amazon.com anytime now. The movie will be for sale online for 9.95 (shipping & handling not included) and it has a special appearance by none other than Jason Mewes himself. Besides that, it's one hell of a funny movie.

Blair Clown Pushed Back... Again

Well, due to production problems, The Blair Clown Project has been pushed back once again. In other words, we don't really know a specific release date untill it is truly done. It's definitely going to be finished this month though.

The Poster

Here's a shot of one of the posters that'll be going up for the movie. A couple others will be made soon, so be on the look out.

Release Date Pushed Back & Jason Mewes in "Blair Clown"

It's been quite a week. With Herbie in the hospital & our road trip to New Jersey to meet Kevin Smith (which was more successful than expected). We met Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, and Walt Flanagan (Fan Boy). Jason Mewes makes an appearance in the Blair Clown movie now... telling a frightening tale about what evil Swanky does to his victims. Also, due to Herbie being busy with his illness, the release date has been pushed back to the 29th of September.

An Excelent Night of Production

Last night went great, except for Herbie's bitching about how uncomfortable he was with roots & a stump in his back. Tom & Josh had a field-day with that... Making all kinds of comments about how Herb was being a puss & all. Anyway, enough about that. Lotts of things happened last night that wern't scripted, but will making it into the movie anyway. Another great addition to the film, a bloopers & comments reel at the end. Besides that, there's a hillarious scene (also un-scripted) where the three guys do pornographic shadow puppets on the side of the tent, which is a bit questionable for a PG-13 rating... but will probably make it's way into the film anyway.

We Got The "Ok" & Pictures

Evidently, from what we heard from someone on a message board and someone directly from Haxan Films, "parodys fall under the category of 'Fair Use'", which means we can parody the hell out of The Blair Witch Project, as long as we emphasize that it is in fact a parody. So it looks like we're gonna have this film of ours in a couple theaters. Also, here's a few pictures from us scouting locations. The pictures are a little old, so forgive us. Click on the thumbnails to see a larger view.

August 15th, 1999

Waiting for an "Ok"

Well, we've been trying our best to get a hold of the creators of The Blair Witch Project to ask if we'd be out of line to release the parody locally. Even though we've already started production, if they say no, it won't be released in any theatre... yet... we'll still have it for personal use & to show for free. (crossing fingers for a thumbs up)

Site Mentioned on NewsAskew.com

Whelp, our friend at NewsAskew.com (Brad Plevyak) has given us a plug that will at least give ViewAskew'ers a taste of what Backstage Productions is busy "burning the midnight oil" on. Below is a graphic of our mention. Thanks again Brad!

August 13th, 1999 (Friday the 13th!)

Great Night Of Shooting

Last night, we got done some shots that were SO FUNNY! There will definitely be a bloopers reel after the movie... which will be a little hard to do without pushing back the release date, which we are not so sure will be. That's why we have a "kinda-sorta" ballpark idea of a date. When we decide, we'll let you know.

August 12th, 1999

Blair Clown Project, Mid-production

With about 1/3 of the footage being done, looks like we're going to make the deadline for the Rehobeth Film Society Indie Film Festival. If we're lucky, it'll be as good as good as people are saying it will be. Pretty soon, there's going to be some photos in the "Aftermath" area... with shots of the inside of the car & what table they found the tape at Denny's.
