The events that took place on April 20, 1999 at Columbine High School in Littleton Colorado are ones of bloodshed, horror, and destruction. Two students decided to play GOD claiming the lives of 13 innocent people before taking their own life. They did it in a matter that shocked the nation and will never be forgotten.

The significance of April 20 may be related to it being Hitler's birthday. The killers were known for their dedication to Hitler. They commonly wore swazticas and hailed Hitler. The killers were angry at being teased the year before. They targeted popular jocks and they also killed a teacher. The Trench Coat Mafia were challenged by the jocks to a fight just a couple of weeks before this incident. They were supposed to meet on a playing field to fight each other. The T.C.M. showed up two hours late and missed the action, however it was noted that they showed up with brass knuckles and swords. The anger of the killers toward the jocks was built up over some time. Another interesting fact is that just a couple of weeks before this incident the killers made a video were they stormed into school killing jocks and blowing things up. In the end we have the loss of precious life and its those people who shall be remembered.
