POWER RANKINGS
Rank Team Analysis
CptAmericaPenisesMG Still winning, usually in convincing fashion. 7-5 in the last two weeks isn't anything spectacular, but it's easily enough to stay at the top, especially with Hinrich playing out of his mind lately.
Mighty Ducks Still only 3 games out of first, so if he has two big weeks to finish the regular season, he could take that top spot and land a first round matchup with Elijah is Womanly.
The Black Shadow Boris Diaw has been ridiculous lately and Gerald Wallace has been a nice addition too. Still losing points every week though and has been wildly inconsistent.
3 Has gone 8-3 to move up one spot in the power rankings. Duncan, Bosh and Camby are all playing well and he's got some nice options at guard, too. Mike James has been a nice surprise this season and Bonzi is on the comeback trail. Could be very dangerous in the playoffs.
Civic-Minded Five Has gone 4-8 the last two weeks, tying with Spawn and getting crushed by Venom. Baron Davis has been very shaky lately and Ridnour has continued to be the weak link on this team. If he wants to make some noise in the playoffs, he is going to have to figure out his guard situation.
Austin Williamson Moves up a spot, largely due to the resurgence of K-Mart and the spectacular play of Brevin Knight. Has some real potential in the playoffs, especially if Yao can keep putting up double-doubles every night.
Venom The Ron Artest gamble has paid off. Villanueva has looked good, too. Pierce and Arenas have both been ridiculous over the last month. That may be why Venom has gone 8-4 in the last two weeks and why he went from 9th to 7th in the Power Rankings.
Untouchables Huge trade sends Kobe, Jalen Rose and Bogut to Spawn for Kidd, Gasol and Curry. Chris Paul and Jason Kidd are now teaming up to carry Untouchables while Gasol continues his solid play. Still, not enough has changed to warrant any movement in the rankings.
Spawn Landing Kobe is pretty huge, and right now is in a position to face his brother in the first round of the playoffs. Josh Smith has been awesome over the last month, but he has to figure out his other forward position, or he will remain very vulnerable.
ACE Plummets from 6th to 10th in the rankings. Ginobili, Marion and Kaman will keep him competitive, but he probably should have held on to Gerald Wallace.
Ebony Really only rises because Wonder Woman hasn't played well lately. While Robert Swift has been a nice surprise, it's debateable whether or not he is starter-caliber when injuries aren't forcing him into the lineup. 'Zo has barely been playing lately, so Swift will have to do for right now.
Dr. Mario Moves up a spot after tying 3 and Cpt.AmericaPenisesMG in consecutive weeks. Johnson and Brand have been huge all season, but he needs to get Kurt Thomas out of his starting lineup because the guy has a broken foot and is out for the rest of the year.
Wonder Woman Steve Francis has been mediocre at best sonce joining New York and Tracy McGrady continues to have back issues. Mike Miller and Channing Frye might actually see some time in the starting lineup. Hence the drop in the rankings.
Banana Man Amare, Amare, Amare. That's what this team needs, and fast. Hasn't played too bad lately, but Grant Hill may be injured once again and Tyson Chandler is inconsistent. If Banana Man can get out of the first round and get Amare back, he could do well in the playoffs, but his post-season hinges entirely on that.
Spaceman Spiff Went 6-6 in the last two weeks. Shaq has played well. Caron Butler seems to have made The Leap. But Raja Bell has not played well lately and hasn't recorded a steal in the last nine games. Randolph hasn't been too good lately either. So while this really isn't a bad team, nothing has happened to cause a rise in the rankings.
Elijah is Womanly He is starting Kyle Korver and Dan Gadzuric. Dwyane Wade is injured, yet remains in the lineup. I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that this team is out in the first round.
