Well we finally made it back, and what a trip.

1050 miles round trip all around and through Scotland.
The ferry was nice and straight forward no messing and great value(well done Stena). Sunshine on day one and off we went winding and blasting our way towards the Highlands. The scenery, well what can you say, only breath-taking.
200 miles or so later we arrived at our first campsite in Inveraray. spot on site with pub. Tents pitched and off we went to get the first pint(s). Great night and even better game of pool.

Day two we packed up and refueled and off we went toward Isle of Skye( 'Midge Central'). The weather was again nice and dry with not a hint of rain. Plenty of chances for the mandatory photo call.

We stoped in Fort William for grub and a rest.Had a stroll around the town, nice place.

After Fort William we made tracks for Skye. We chose to go over the toll bridge as the the 30 minute ferry ride was 4 times the cost. When we got to the toll bridge a friendly fellow biker came over and gave us the tip to buy a pack of 20 toll tickets for £13.90 which was much cheaper than all seven bikes buying individual rtn. tickets.

On we went over the Famous Skye bridge and travelled to our campsite. Well how can we describe the 'Midge Problem', the worst case in the last 4 years we were told.
absolutely unbelievable. B+B's were never so much appreciated. With the exception of two brave men (Arthur and Walton) who risked eating and sleeping with the Midges, well done those men!

Next day there was a storm a blowin' so we high tailed it to Inverness for some food and rest. That over, we headed down through the Highlands to a town called Aviemore(winter ski resort). Excellent campsite, so much so we stayed two nights. We met lots of sound people, including our indulging neighbours, Bill, Rhona and our newest member Little Natalie , who joined us till the early hours drinking and eating at our barbque.

Last night of the trip we stayed in Edinburgh at 'MortonHall' campsite, very nice and had the neccessary on site bar.
Edinburgh was bustling due to the Festival.

Last day , so of we headed for Stranraer via 'The Scenic Route' those on the ride will know what I mean.

Anyhow back to the hum drum work, But anyone who is thinking of touring Scotland, stop it and go ahead and do it!!!
