Give us Ultimate Difficulty! We can handle it too!

Europe get a raw deal with most games. Usually games get released in Japan then eventually in America and sometimes much later as an afterthought (only if we are really lucky and cross our fingers while praying to ooga booga and sacrificing live haggis at midnight) Europe. Im sure there are other areas of the world that get shafted too but we remain consistant. Some say that this filters out mince titles so we get gallus ones - and im sure these people are happy playing pinball or the latest electronic farts sequel on the poostation - so lets just leave them in peace. The usual excuse for delays or non-appearances is translating for multiple languages (time and cost involved). I personally think more games should be given worldwide simultaneous releases although I know this is a rare occurance. Obviously some games go down better depending on the territory. Who decides? Not Joe Average Gamer but some Stuffy Office Jockey.

So Version2 was out in Japan but a USA release was not even certain. Europe? HA! forget it. Most people who had a DC and PSO wanted Version2 in fact some couldnt wait and imported it. So petitions got started and mail got sent. Sega caved and released it in USA.

Europe still wasnt confirmed so some imported the US version. More signed petitions and sent mail. Eventually Sega caved although they took so long it probably didnt make as much dosh for them as if they had released it when people were gagging for it. I bought it on the first day it graced UK shelves. Nowadays they say that it was intended all along. I like to think that this will go down in history as a victory for gamers.
