As the rain gently washes against my window and...
The fresh scent of a world bathed clean enters my room...
I sit here in the warm glow of the flickering fire
Looking at your picture
I see the smile on your lips but
I see the sadness in your eyes...
Eyes that have seen so much unhappiness
In your eyes I see the love in your heart
Love that longs to be given and returned
On the outside I see the physical beauty of your face and your body
In your eyes I see the true beauty deep inside
That tries hard to push the unhappiness aside
Silently in the night you come to me...
Whispering my name...
As if not to awaken me should I sleep
Your hand tenderly brushes my cheek
My eyes open to the feel your gentle touch
The love in your eyes washes over me
In my life upon this planet...
I have never experienced such love as you give so freely
I shall spend the rest of my time on this earth
Trying to return a portion of what you have given to me
I ask you to take my hand
To walk by my side
To trod this path we have chosen
To physically grow old
To remain young of mind, spirit and soul
To live and love
To laugh and cry
To share our life...
Our souls
