Arts and Entertainment of The 1990s

One of the major events of the 1990s entertainment was the history and the changes to it. Television graced 99% of the households in the U.S., the average viewer spending seven hours a day watching 'the tube'. In 1996. the television industry announced a TV ParentalGuideline rating system. With an increasing number of TV channels and programs coming into peoples homes each day, it was be hard for parents to monitor what their children were watching. Many parents were concerned about their young children watching programs with content that's more suitable for older children or adults. For example shows like Will and Grace and South Park. This system helped parents control what their child was wathcing. the children went from watching shows like South Park to watching shows on channels like PBS. South Park is one of the most famous shows that came out in this decade. Originally presented on Comedy Central, it follows the adventures of four eight-year-old boys who live in the small town of South Park, Colorado. The reason the show is such a big hit is because it is noted for handling current events while still current, and in a funny 2-D sort of way. One of the most famous artist of this time is P Buckley Moss. Shw works in watercolor, etching and silkscreen she is widely known in this country and also regularly exhibits in Japan where in 1990 she was given an exhibition of 53 of her paintings and etchings at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum. The exhibition was a sell-out. She has her own musem in Williamsburg called P. Buckley Moss Musem. She now lives in Mathews County Virginia.
