The Injeel & The Quran

A Harmony of the Gospel & the Quran

This page asserts that
The Gospel of Thomas is The Injeel of the Quran.

" The "Injeel of the Qur’an... refers to the Revelation
that was sent to Isa b Maryam (on whom be peace)...
(The Injeel)... as pointed out by some experts,
is the Gospel of Thomas, which records the words of Jesus."
(The Injeel الإنْجِيل

This Quran... is a confirmation of (the scripture that) preceded it,...
an elaboration of the (previous or former) Book," (i.e. the Injeel).
Quran 10:37

The Quran is a detailed explanation of the Injeel.
Again, the Quran is an elaborate commentary
on the Original Gospel given by Allah to Jesus.

between The Gospel of Thomas & The Holy Quran,

These Scriptures are Presented Side by Side Demonstrating &
Highlighting the Key Word Connections.

The Injeel or "The Original Gospel of Christ"
is repeatedly mentioned in the Holy Quran.

The Injeel of the Quran does not refer to the gospels
written by the New Testament Apostles.

Rather, it is the little book given to Jesus by God.

This Injeel, or Book, or Gospel of Thomas
is the record of the secret sayings which the living Jesus spoke.

Specifically, this "Injil (Arabic: إنجيلʾInǧīl ) is the Arabic name for what Muslims believe to be the original Gospel of Jesus. This Injil is one of the four Islamic Holy Books the Qur'an records as revealed by Allah, the others being the Zabur (possibly the Psalms), the Tawrat (the Torah, or Tanakh), and the Qur'an. The word Injil is derived from the Greek word Εὐαγγέλιον (euangelion)[1] which means 'good news'...

The word Injil occurs twelve times in the Qur'an and refers to the Book of revelation given to the Prophet Jesus... The word Injil is used in the Qur'an, the Hadith and early Muslim documents to refer specifically to the revelations made by God to Jesus...  Muslim scholars generally agree that Injil refers to the true Gospel, bestowed upon Jesus by God...  Muslims (also) believe this original Gospel (of Jesus) to have been... lost," The Gospel in Islam - Wikipedia.

However, the Gospel of Thomas," was unearthed in Egypt in 1945.
Since The Gospel of Thomas has now been recovered,
is it now time to consider new possibilities?

Both Thomas and The Quran share 114 divisions.

Each of the 114 Sayings of Thomas
correspond to each of the related 114 Surahs of the Quran.

Each of the 114 Sayings shares similar Key Word Connections
with each of the corresponding 114 Surahs.

With the discovery of "The Secret Sayings of Jesus"
in the Gospel known as "Thomas",
have we now recovered the lost Injeel
the lost holy book of Islam, and
the original Gospel of Jesus?

Do we now have the Holy Book given to Jesus?

This side by side comparison between the Quran and the Gospel of Thomas
will reveal the interconnectedness of these two books.

The "Quran... is an elaboration" and detailed explanation of
the former Book
Quran 10:37

To my Muslim friends, do we now have a new tool to understand the Quran?

If so, what shall we now do with this Injeel?

Perhaps, we shall "explain to mankind that which has been revealed,"
Quran 16:44 Pickthall.

The Quran exhorts the Christians to judge prophecy
and revelation against the Injeel.

This is now possible.

"Let the people of the Injeel (Gospel) judge by what Allah has revealed therein.
(ie. By what is revealed within the Injeel)
And whosoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed
(then) such (people) are the Fasiqun
(the rebellious i.e. disobedient (of a lesser degree) to Allah,"
 Quran 5:47 Mohsin Khan

The Quran was given to confirm,
and perhaps even to protect the Injeel given to Jesus.

"To thee (Muhammad) We sent the Scripture in truth,
confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety,"
Quran 5:48 Shakir

The Quran proclaims the scriptural authority of the InjeeI.

"We believe in Allah, and in what has been revealed to us
and what was revealed to Abraham, Isma`il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes,
and in (the Books) given to Moses, Jesus, and the Prophets, from their Lord;
we make no distinction between one and another among them,
and to Allah do we bow our will (in Islam)."  Quran 3:84
Yusuf Ali

The discovery of this Injeel may dramtically influence our understanding of Scriptures.
Therefore, let us examine This Lost Holy Book of the Christians, the Muslims,
and of Jesus the Messenger to the Jews?

The Injeel is Once Again the Message of Jesus for Us All.

The new ideas revealed through this Injeel
will challenge even the most devout Muslims.
"And the Jews will not be pleased with thee,
nor will the Christians, till thou follow their creed.
Say: Lo! the guidance of Allah (Himself) is Guidance," Quran 2:120 Pickthall.

To the Jewish people say: "People of the Book, you do not stand on anything,
until you
perform the Torah and the Gospel [Injil],
and what was sent down to you from your Lord."  Quran 5:68 Arberry.

To the Christian say, "the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you,
and ye need not that any man teach you,"
1 John 2:27.
Concerning this revelation, "Prove all things," 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21.
