NBA Live 2002
Bummers:
-the gameplay and graphics in NBA Live 2002 are based closely on last year's game

-staggering framerate?

-clippings during replays?

I've always loved the NBA Live games but I just have to flat out say that NBA Live 2001 was a grand fallacy (sorry taking Philosophy) of a greatly improved game. In other words, based on our concept that NBA Live has always made great games year-after-year we just went out and bought 2001 like good little NBA Live fans.

But aside from the spiffy new game layout and new cover designed by KG
(thanks for the dunks at least Kev), it was basically the same as NBA Live 2000 with worse gameplay. I'm not sure how the PSX & PSX2 versions were like, but playing a normal exhibition game on the PC version leaves me with one statement..."For the love of God slow down the gameplay!" Everyone's moving around like Speedy Gonzalez or Speedy Claxton for that matter. Shaq is one of the quickest 7+ players in the game but come on...he moves like a point guard even without turbo, with it jeez he'll drive by Gary Payton.

Most importantly, simulation wasn't exactly a step up either aside from the interface again
(the 3 team trade feature was a dandy). I had 8 Game of the Weeks for my 2001 season using Live2k1 and none of them had a team score 90 or more while I had some 100 point games for Live 2000. The infamous bench scoring was just as bad as ever (it was fun selecting the 6th man of the year)...anyways enough with the beef of Live2k1, NBA Live 2002 is just around the corner and I'm sure all the NBA Live fans are pumped about the next chapter of EA Sports' NBA Live series for an awesome upcoming NBA season.
