" room of love "
[ introduction to be added shortly ]
feng shui is the ancient chinese study of the natural environment and is used as a tool to attract good health, wealth, prosperity and romance into your life.
experts say that by following the laws of nature and determing the best location for everything around us, we become more comfortable, efficient and succesful.
if you've been unlucky in attracting love into your life, it might simply be a case of too much clutter in the south-west corner of your bedroom.
[ in the bedroom ]
'first of all we ned to find where the energy centers are. use a compass to find which is the south-west love corner [of the bedroom]. there are a few feng issues to address. number one, we need to makes sure there's no clutter. number two, we want to look at the colours, make sure there's a good balance between yin and yang. and number 3, we want to look at the symbolism. make sure that we have symbolism that's going to attract love into the bedroom.'
[ yasmin boland : feng shui expert ]
to create harmony you must first de-clutter then, for balance, make sure you have two of everything; bedside tables, lamps and other trinkets. but it's what you put in the south-west corner that really matters.
'we've put elements which we need here, which are earth and fire. so we've got an earthenware pot, we've got a candle which is fire, we've got crystal, pink rose quarts is actually the best love crystal of all. and we've got pairs, we've also got manderin ducks; we want to see them kissing or swimming in the same direction, but you never want to see them swimmer apart from each other.' after all the good feng shui we've done, what are the things to avoid?
'we don't want any electrics or reflactive surfaces in the bedroom, so no computer screens, no televisions, and most of all no mirrors opposite the bed. [if you do have a mirror you can] draw is back [if on a door] or just cover it.'
one of the most dramatic changes i've noticed has been the colour.
'what we've done is balance the yin and yang. yin in feminine so it's soft colours like creams and peaches. and the yang is masculine so it's more striking colours like orange, striking blue or red.'
so, can you guarantee that with all our great feng shui work that mr. or mrs. right is goingto walk through that door of love?
'i think with a positive attitude and a litle bit of mingling, youi can't go wrong'
well, as the old saying goes, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it.' but, as all singles know, it's a jungle out there and anything that gives you an edge in the love stakes is worth checking out.
