I whispered a prayer for you today
I prayed for the Lord to bless you in every way
I prayed for Him to take away any pain
Asked Him to give you sunshine instead of rain.
I didn't ask for fortune or fame
Only that you'd know the power in His name
I prayed you'd remember to call out to Him
Whenever you need a special friend.
I didn't ask for beauty for the world to see
Only that He'd make you into to what He wants you to be
I didn't pray you'd be a superstar
Only that your light shines near and far.
I prayed for peace to fall over you
That in times of trouble it'd see you through
I asked for a special touch from above
Blessed by God with all His love.
