MORGAN Family
My MORGAN family listing starts with Eli MORGAN b. 31 Jan 1811 and his marriage to Elizabeth "Bettsy" YORK b. 1820. and their marriage in Anderson County, TN. They are my great great grandparents. That is as far back as I have on Eli, but Elizabeth's YORK line runs quite a way back, including the famous WW I hero Sgt. Alvin YORK.

Their son Benson Myers MORGAN b. 7 Jul 1861 in Old Elverton, Roane, TN d. 25 Jul 1930 Coalfield, Morgan, TN and his wife Sarah "Sallie" Ann Delaware WALLS b. 19 May 1862 in Coalfield, Morgan, TN d. 22 Mar 1924 Coalfield, Morgan, TN were my great grand parents. I have visited their gravesite, on a hilltop, under long reaching arms of nearby trees. Sharing the last sleep of us all together, as they did in life. Lovely setting.
Their son George Alexander MORGAN b. 13 Oct 1882 Coalfield, Morgan, TN d. 25 Nov 1970 Mt. Vernon, Jefferson, Illinois and his wife Minerva Roseanna LYNCH b. 10 Aug 1881 Morristown, Hamblen, TN d. 29 Jan 1929 Mt. Vernon, Jefferson, Illinois were my grandparents.
Grandpa George was a preacher in, "The Church of God, the Piller, Ground and the Truth", and moved with my mother from Mt. Vernon to Albany, Albany, NY about 1930 with his ministry. I was born there 26 Apr 1932.
