Beer Review: Otter Creek A Winter's Ale
You gotta love winter beers. Moderate and malty usually with a little spice, they remind one of open fires, friends' smiles, and old time Christmas... at least it's ideal. They are usually a social beer, designed to be moderate and nice, without a lot of stridency, in malt, alcohol or hoppiness. I bet you Santa likes winter brews! Otter Creek's version is apparently a Scotch style ale, dark and creamy with just a hint of spice, a very slight hop taste, going down easily with rich food--and fitting when its cold outside, but warm inside. This is another I'd recommend for those who think Guinness is just too much.... -- The King
