Beer Review: Capitol City Hefeweizen

Visitors to the nation's capital should make a little time in their schedule to visit "Washington's Hometown Micro-Brewery Restaurant" -- Capitol City. The burgers here are supposed to be quite good (I know the beers are!). Before I ever visited one of their four restaurants, however, I tried Cap City at the 2001 Dominion Beer Fest, sampling their Hefeweizen (a selection that would later turn out to not be on tap at their Union Station-adjacent location). I noted that the aftertaste of this particular brew was, as I so eloquently put it, "eh". It was there & not very one way or the other. Just there. Overall, the beer was good, but amongst all of the Cap City offerings I've tried, this Hefe does not rank very highly. -- Brewmeister G
