Beer Review: Bass Ale

According to their web site Bass Ale can be traced to 1777 when William Bass first started brewing the Bass Pale Ale in Burton-on-Trent, England. Bass Ale is also alleged to be the favorite beers of both Napoleon and Buffalo Bill. This is one of England’s most renowned beers and exports. Known for its distinctive Red Triangle, its taste has been satisfying beer drinkers for years. This beverage has similar qualities to Guinness’s distinctive taste, but should never be compared. The drink is English in tradition and flavor. It’s a creamy and delightful beer to drink with friends and family. It’s a drink for winter, slightly bitter and very malty and would likely compliment red meat. While the draught is excellent and sports a traditionally frothy head, the Imperial Pint Bottle is fun to drink from. It’s a classic that one cannot help but occasionally revisit. -- Dopplebock
