What's a saiyan?
Saiyans are a race of elite fighters that come from a planet named Vegeta. On Vegeta there was two species. The civilized Truffles, and the savage saiyans. They hated each other, the saiyans just hated them due to the fact that they are born with the longing to fight. It was a long battle, wepaons and technology, vs pure strength. Then something happened. A full moon arose. this only happened every 8 years, and it caused all the saiyans to transfrom into Oozaroo. (giant ape like creatures)They dominated the truffles. Only now thier thirst for blood went unquenced, for there was no one left to fight, after they destroyed the Truffles. Space creatures landed and hired the saiyans to steal planets for them(by killing the planets entire inhabitence and giving it to the aliens who sold them). The aliens gave the saiyans ships, which enabled them to travel to the planets to pirate them. A powerful alien named Frieza saw them as a threat after a while and destroyed their planet with all of the saiyans on it but 5 of them were away at the time stealing planets and were the only survivors. They were: The Saiyan Prince Vegeta, the General of the Saiyan Army Nappa, Broli, Kakarott (Goku), and his brother Raditz.
Saiyans's Levels
Oozaru
Oozaru can only be achieved by Saiyans. The Saiyan must have a tail. The transformation is triggered by the light of a full moon, or another very bright light source. When the saiyan looks into the full moon they begin to transform into an ape like beast. When they are in this state there power is increased by ten fold. There are two ways to reverse the effect, one is to cut off there tail, or take away the light source.
Golden Oozaru
This level of Oozaru is achieved by Goku and Vegeta in DBGT. This is the most powerful form of Oozaru. The main difference is that Golden Oozaru have golden hair instead of brown. When you in this transformation you power increases twenty fold.
Super Saiyan level 1
Super Saiyan is triggered by lots and lots of hard training, and it is only released with intense anger and rage by a saiyan with pure heart. When the saiyan is in the this state of transformation there powerlevel increases rapidly. Their apperance changes as well the saiyans hair will turn bright yellow or gold color, and there eyes become a blueish-green color. USSJ where the saiyan is more powerful then regular SSJ, their muscles become huge. *Note* Half-Saiyans tend to go SSJ at an earlier age.
Super Saiyan level 2
SSJ2 is even more powerful then SSJ and USSJ, it is also triggered by anger. In SSJ2 your speed increases dramitacally and strength. Very similar in looks to SSJ. Gohan is the first to go SSJ2.
Super Saiyan level 3
Goku is the first to achieve SSJ3 in a fight with Majin Buu. This is the most powerful form of Super Saiya-Jin. Gotenks also has achieved this level. This transformation looks different than the other SSJ levels. The eyebrows disappear and the saiyans hair grows real long and thick. *Note* Vegeta bypasses this level with the help of Bulma.
Super Saiyan level 4
In DBGT, this is the true level of the legendary Super Saiyan. Rage and Anger also triggers this transformation. When you become SSJ4 you are very different than the other SSJ stages, Your hair is black and your body is covered in ape-like red hair and you look like a half-ape.
OTHER INFO
Saiyans wear armour. It is a long bendy underwear (with matching shirt) covered by a chest protector with shoulder flaps. There is different kinds of armour. Some are different colours, some have shroter underwear. Some have leg flaps. Some don't even have flaps at all. This armour is durable and can strech to almost any size. Saiyans have a sense of pride, and travel in fast one man ships called saiyan space pods.
